While Clive can come across and purchase some powerful weapons throughout his journey, crafting new ones from the Blacksmith will always result in some of the best options available. With Final Fantasy 16: The Rising Tide, this continues to be true, as Clive is given access to two new weapons.

While the Tidestrike will be many players' go-to weapon, being themed from Leviathan, Clive will also get access to the unique Tonberry Knife, a weapon infamous throughout the Final Fantasy series. This rare weapon requires a few items only found in the new area of the DLC, such as Fool's Gold. Unlike other items in this DLC, Fool's Gold can be obtained much more easily without the need to complete a side quest first, like Aquamarine.

Where To Find Fool's Gold

There are only two Fool's Gold for players to find, with the first being tied to The Rising Tide's main story. Upon traveling to the Aire Of Hours and passing through the barrier, players will quickly be introduced to the first enemy and mini-boss of this area, the Master Tonberry. Defeating this enemy will give the player one Fool's Gold. This item is not missable, and should you have completed this section of the story, will already have the item.

The only other Fool's Gold in the game can be obtained by looting a chest in Father's Fell. Starting from Haven and leaving through The High Gate, travel north following the main path as it veers east. Continue forward taking the southern path. In the next, larger area, stick to the left side of the clearing, with a chest being towards the far end, and inside, another Fool's Gold.

What To Do With Fool's Gold

The Tonberry Master Facing The Group

There are only two Fool's Gold to be found and used in a playthrough, with them both being needed to craft the Tonberry Knife. This is the only use for Fool's Gold, along with the excess amount of the other items also needed for this weapon, making it a safe choice to make. This weapon doesn't reach the damage heights of the Omega Weapon or Tidestrike, but still has its uses. While it doesn't exceed in damage, the Tonberry Knife's Will damage exceeds any other weapon in a regular playthrough and is the perfect weapon for those who always aim to stagger their opponents and leave them open to large bursts of damage.
