Throughout Final Fantasy XIV are dungeons in which you and three other players go through. These dungeons all have different bosses and locations. Some dungeons are for the main story while others are optional. The team consists of two DPS, a healer, and a tank. They can be a group of friends or a random collection of strangers. Either way, dungeons are a major way players level up their characters and is where strategy is more implemented.

Every player has favorite and least favorite dungeons depending on what their preferences are. One major influence is how the dungeon looks. There are some gorgeous places! With that in mind, here are the ten prettiest dungeons in the game so far, ranked from least to most pretty.

10 The Lost City of Amdapor

This level 50 dungeons was introduced in patch 2 and can only be received after beating the main story of A Realm Reborn.

In this dungeon, you get to explore an abandoned old city. There are spores, floating mushrooms, and moths everywhere. Some players may find it creepy due to all the decay, but there are a good number who find the place beautiful. Some have mentioned that the dungeon even reminds them of the film Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind.

9 Snowcloak

If you find beauty in snow and ice, then  the level 50 dungeon, Snowcloak, may be one of your favorites. The ice crystals glow like aetherytes and the music really brings on a feeling of isolation.

All players eventually go to Snowcloak since it main questline to find the leader of the heretics, Lady Iceheart.

8 Anamnesis Anyder

As of now, this is the latest dungeon to be released in the game. Fans love it because part of the dungeon is riding on an island-sized giant whale. After that, you get to further explore Amaurot.

Amaurot is an abandoned ancient city at the bottom of the ocean, so it has a lot to see from gardens to skyscrapers and research facilities.

7 The Antitower

This level 60 Heavensward dungeon has a lot going on. It is a place once taken care of by Sharlayans in order to study the aetherial sea. It is now abandoned, and you get to explore it! This dungeon is so gorgeous, it is easy to forget that creepy dolls are the final boss.

You are in a space where the laws of physics are broken, so there are parts where you are walking on the ceiling and moments when you can fly from land mass to floating land mass.

6 The Great Gubal Library

This other Heavensward dungeon has a very haunted mansion aesthetic. It is a library, but the size of a castle! The floors are covered in spooky mist, and books are tucked and thrown about all over the place. As you walk around, the lights turn on on their own.

When there for the first time, it is hard to not stop and just enjoy the beauty of the rooms. You can even pick up some of the books and read them!

5 Saint Mocianne's Arboretum

Not to be confused with the dungeon of the same name in Hard mode. This version is much more beautiful (with less mud).

Basically, as the name suggests, it is a massive botanical garden. There are vine archways, flowers, and jungle-like plants all around. It lives up to its description, which states that the arboretum was known to have the biggest collection of flora and fauna before it was abandoned.

4 Kugane Castle

At level 70, players can go to the Kugane Castle dungeon. It is full of beautiful Doman architecture with painted screen doors, tatami flooring, red bridges, bamboo gardens, and dim lanterns. It is like where you would imagine a Japanese fairytale about royalty to take place.

The last boss battle also has a comedic mechanic to it, where you have to collect gold before the mercenary's pet. The less gold he has, the less strength he puts into attacking you. You get what you pay for!

3 Shisui Of The Violet Tides

This dungeon is like Kugane Castle meets the ocean, which of course makes it a step up. It has everything that makes Kugane Castle beautiful but adds a fantasy element of an underwater civilization.

There are gardens of coral, pools of water, and lots of pretty fish to fight. The sea water above also provides very pretty rays of light.

2 Dohn Mheg

Dohn Mheg has a little bit of everything. It is like the player is whisked away into a place from Alice in Wonderland. There are glowing plants that bloom as you walk past them, arches of vines, and tons of flowers.

That is only half of the dungeon though. The other half is an underwater palace. It is like a mixture of Saint Mocianne's Arboretum and Shisui of the Violet Tides in terms of visuals.

1 The Vault

Number one is from Heavensward, The Vault. The lighting through the windows and the architecture are god-tier visuals. It brings together everything that makes Ishgard beautiful: its Gothic halls, colossal stained glass windows, and its deep love of sharp chandeliers.

The reason this dungeon stands above others is there is no other like it. It is its own place, non-comparable to anywhere else in the whole game. That shows a lot of love went into its design.
