8 Eight

As a highly dedicated and loyal member of Class Zero, Eight is a strong and wise young man who possesses a very aware state of mind both in his position and the state of the world around him. Eight excels in melee combat, having a strong dislike for conventional weaponry.

After being chosen by Al-Rashia, he makes sure he never falls short of her expectations, holding her as his reason for being a cadet. Eight is a great character in Final Fantasy Type 0 HD; he can deal considerable damage and has some quick movement abilities to avoid damage. Unfortunately, Eight can be a mana drain and must get quite close to enemies to be useful.

7 Nine

nine final fantasy type 0

Nine is considered a short-sighted person who strikes first and thinks last, giving little consideration to the consequences of his actions. While Nine is a very productive member of Class Zero, he often receives backlash from his classmates for his rash actions and disregard for their opinions and feelings.

Nine sees the world from a basic moral view and refuses to compromise, priding himself on the ability to cut to the chase. Nine is a frontline fighter who wields a spear able to deal moderate damage; Nine also shines in his defense capabilities, having the highest HP in the game.

6 Trey

trey final fantasy type 0

Trey is the resident know-it-all of Class Zero; he maintains a perfectly poised persona of a well-mannered young man and constantly divulges detailed information on dozens of topics. On more than one occasion, Trey has been called overbearing due to his excessive unsolicited advice, which can be mistaken for snobbishness.

The weapon of choice for Trey is a pristine bow which he can utilize in combination with several powerful skills. In addition, Trey is a master marksman and has incredible range, able to cover his teammates admirably.

5 King

king final fantasy type 0

King is a more go-with-the-flow type of young man who doesn't lean in one direction or the other when faced with a conflict. While he is a dedicated member of Class Zero, he remains reserved and appears distant to his friends.

King wields dual pistols and excels at peppering enemies with long-ranged attacks but also has the ability to get in close with a few select abilities. However, due to his cooldown mechanic, which forces him to reload his weapons, King can be quite vulnerable in certain situations.

4 Jack

jack final fantasy type 0

Jack can be considered a goofball for his constant comedic antics and carefree attitude, even in the most dire of situations. Jack keeps the mood light and the energy flowing with one-liners and an upbeat attitude. Humorously dubbed the Class Clown Zero, Jack has little issue making light of facing impossible odds with a smile and his trusty Katana.

While Jack's energy is always high, his movement speed is not, making him the slowest of Class Zero. However, Jack can deal extremely high damage and can make use of his counterattack skill to make up for his poor movement abilities.

3 Cater

cater final fantasy type 0

There is no beating around the bush for Cater; she makes it her business to be as straightforward as she can and avoids wasting as much time as possible. Cater has such an immense amount of confidence and a clear picture of her goals that she has no problem sprinting toward with steadfast faith that she can accomplish anything she puts her mind to.

Cater's somewhat impulsive personality matches her fighting style, as she is the fastest character in the game, able to weave through enemies effortlessly. Wielding a powerful pistol, she is great at single target combat.

2 Rem

Rem final fantasy type 0

An argument could be made that Rem is the heart and soul of Class Zero. As an overwhelmingly kind and gentle young girl, Rem is solely dedicated to her friends in Class Zero and doing the right thing.

Rem is confident enough to outwardly express her emotions and care for the emotions of others, making her a somewhat den mother to the rest of the class. Rem uses dual daggers in Final Fantasy Type 0 HD but also has an affinity for spells. Rem may work best in a support role instead of being a point character, as she is not the best at avoiding damage.

1 Ace

ace final fantasy type 0

Ace is the lead protagonist of Final Fantasy Type 0 HD among the rest of Class Zero; among them, Ace carries a heightened level of responsibility and decision-making throughout the game. In true Final Fantasy protagonist fashion, Ace can be a reckless person and dive straight into danger, blinded by his anger or to protect his friends. Ace is a ranged fighter in the game, using playing cards as powerful projectiles. Ace is a well-rounded fighter who deals impressive damage and provides adequate support.

Final Fantasy Type 0 HD is available to play on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox One via Steam.
