Wanderer of the Rift, the latest DLC for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, is now available for download, Square Enix confirmed Wednesday. This is the second of the three planned Final Fantasy Origin DLC that Team Ninja announced earlier this year.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin was released in commemoration of the series' 35th anniversary back in March. The Wanderer of the Rift expansion continues the story from the Trials of the Dragon King DLC, wherein the protagonists take on universe-hopping villain Gilgamesh.

Wanderer of the Rift is only available through the Final Fantasy Origin season pass, which is valued at $29.99. Purchasing the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game for $89.99 will net fans slightly better value for money than upgrading from a Standard Edition, as the former version also comes with a digital art book and an abridged soundtrack. Square Enix already revealed Wanderer of the Rift DLC contents last week, confirming that the expansion will introduce new story missions, an enemy-slowing mechanic called Dimension Bringer, one additional job, and an extra difficulty level, among other things.

Since the Wanderers of the Rift story continues from where Trials of the Dragon King left off, the new Final Fantasy Origin missions are still locked behind the tough Chaos difficulty. That mode, however, is no longer the game's hardest, as the latest expansion also introduces the Gilgamesh difficulty level, which nets even higher rewards for those who manage to survive it. Simply progressing through the story missions regardless of the difficulty level will eventually unlock a new Blue Mage job which specializes in mimicking enemy skills and abilities.

Finally, the newly released DLC also introduces Monster Bells, a set of items that allow players to bond with monsters through various interactions like conversations and feeding which seem to combine mechanics from Shin Megami Tensei and Pokemon games. Acquiring a Monster Bell will require finding its summonstone and completing a special event with a given creature.

With today's launch of Wanderers of the Rift, Square Enix has only one more DLC for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin to release. There's still no word on what the Different Future expansion will entail, though based on Team Ninja's existing track record, it's likely that the final piece of seasonal content for the game will hit the market sometime in the first quarter of 2023.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
