An incredibly lucky Final Fantasy fan made a surprising discovery at their parents' house, when the fan found original PlayStation copies of Final Fantasy 6, Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 8, and Final Fantasy 9. Among the rising fan anticipation for the upcoming release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the spectacular find has fans filled with classic nostalgia.

Final Fantasy is often lauded as one of the greatest RPG franchises in video game history. Since the first game launched in 1987, the renowned series has expanded into various mediums and has explored a variety of different gaming genres. The older games, however, remain ever-popular among Final Fantasy fans.

Lucky Final Fantasy fan Sakuragi16 shared a snapshot of the old-school games they found while digging through their parents' home. They found four of the Final Fantasy series' most popular entries, all still in prime condition in their original PlayStation jewel disc cases. The original Final Fantasy 7, as well as 8 and 9, are perhaps the most beloved and most familiar to North American fans. Final Fantasy 6 has a rather interesting backstory, making it a standout find among the treasured games. Originally, Final Fantasy 2, 3, and 5 were not released outside of Japan, so developer Square Enix titled Final Fantasy 4 and 6 as Final Fantasy 2 and Final Fantasy 3, respectively, for their international releases. As such, an international disc version of Final Fantasy 6 is a phenomenal discovery, and arguably the most unique find among the collective bounty of nostalgia.
