Final Fantasy is a series that is filled to the brim with numerous mainline titles and spin-offs, almost all of which feature expansive stories and numerous characters. There are people from all walks of life featured in these games, and it's only a given that the series has seen its fair share of parents as well. From main party members to the side characters, there are many parents in the series who are pretty unique in their own right.

Of course, not all parents are equal when it comes to how they raise their children. Thankfully, the following moms and dads did a great job of raising their children the best they could. The stories of Final Fantasy titles can be pretty turbulent, so it's refreshing to see that certain parents can help their children grow into stand-up people despite the adversities they may face.

8 Regis Lucis Caelum – Final Fantasy 15

Regis Lucis Caelum (Final Fantasy 15)

For what it's worth, Regis definitely tried his hardest to be a father to Noctis while juggling his role as the ruler of the kingdom. It's this dedication itself that makes him worthy of being on the list.

Noctis and he may not have been as close as most families on this list, but he still kept an eye out for his son at all times. Learning about his dad's death rattles Noctis to no end, especially since he isn't even in Insomnia before leaving!

7 Wakka & Lulu – Final Fantasy 10-2

Wakka and Lulu in Final Fantasy 10-2

Wakka & Lulu are great characters who develop a romantic relationship by the end of Final Fantasy 10. When the sequel arrived, it turned out that both characters had settled together and given birth to a child as well!

Only time can tell whether Wakka and Lulu will be great parents, but they've definitely shown the love they have for their child in their appearances in Final Fantasy 10-2. The kid is in safe hands and will grow up to be someone truly special.

6 Cecil Harvey & Rosa Farrell – Final Fantasy 4: The After Years

Cecil and Rosa's relationship plays a major role in Final Fantasy 4, so it's nice to see them get the love they deserve in the sequel. Married and ruling over Baron with a gentle yet firm hand, the couple also have a kid called Ceodore.

The child is actually a protagonist of The After Years, with both parents doing a great job of bringing the kid up. Of course, there are some struggles that Ceodore needs to get through on his own since he needs to grow up and understand the responsibilities he has as a prince of Baron.

5 Galuf Halm Baldesion – Final Fantasy 5

Galuf starts out as a pretty goofy character in Final Fantasy 5, with his amnesia shrouding the character in an air of mystery. So, when players find out that he's one of the heroes who sealed Exdeath on Earth and knew Bartz's father as well, the revelation is pretty interesting indeed.

Galuf also has a granddaughter who loves him, with the two growing closer after Krile's parents disappeared following an expedition that went wrong. It's clear that he cares about his granddaughter, making his death all the harder to digest.

4 Arecia Al-Rashia – Final Fantasy Type-0

Arecia Al-Rashia from Final Fantasy Type-0

Final Fantasy Type-0 is a great spin-off that focuses on real-time combat and features a whopping total of fourteen playable characters to choose from. The combat never gets messy despite the sheer number of characters in the game, even if the story does suffer because of a lack of attachment players may feel toward the students.

The entirety of Class Zero was hand-picked by Arecia, who is considered by the students to be their mother figure. She genuinely cares about the students and proves that one doesn't need a biological connection with a child to be a parent.

3 Terra Branford – Final Fantasy 6

Terra from Final Fantasy VI

After the onset of the World of Ruin is brought about by Kefka, the party members of Final Fantasy 6 split off to do their own thing. Terra ends up running an orphanage and gets attached to the many children who lost their parents when the world was destroyed.

She refuses to leave the orphanage when the party comes to bring her back but changes her mind after realizing that she could be of more help to the world by deposing Kefka from his throne. It's a great way to show just how much Terra has grown as a character, with her noble and selfless nature shining through as a parent for all these orphaned children.

2 Sazh Katzroy – Final Fantasy 13

Final Fantasy 13 Sazh Katzroy

Final Fantasy 13 is a game not many people are fond of, which is a shame since the title definitely has its highlights. One of the main party members whose son serves as his biggest source of motivation is Sazh Katzroy.

Sazh may seem rather goofy at first glance, but his intentions to save his sons are pretty noble and make him a great character in what is otherwise a dull game. Like any dad, he's willing to put his life on the line to ensure his son's safety.

1 Elmyra Gainsborough – Final Fantasy 7

Elmyra Gainsborough protecting a young Aerith in the Final Fantasy 7 remake

For someone who's not Aerith's real mother, it's amazing just how compassionate and patient Elmyra is with her adopted daughter. The final living member of the Cetra is not an easy child to manage, so it's great to see that Elmyra managed to grow Aerith into a kind and loving person.

After Aerith is kidnapped, Elmyra is beside herself with grief and implores Cloud and his friends to save her. It's characters like Elmyra who show just how pure and powerful the love of a mother can be.
