Since Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a somewhat linear experience (with a few “open world” areas sprinkled here and there), there are going to be things that players miss. Some are useful items for boss fights and in-game challenges, while others are tied to sidequests or PS4 trophies.
One element of Final Fantasy 7 Remake that makes itself apparent early on is the musical disc collection. As players pass by jukeboxes, gramophones, and other musical instruments they will see a prompt in the top left featuring a music disc and a set of question marks.
If the player then approaches a vendor, NPC, or sometimes a vending machine, they will be able to acquire one of the game's music discs. Collecting all 31 of the music discs will unlock the Disc Jockey trophy, but it is very easy to miss a few of them, especially if Final Fantasy 7 Remake players are not exploring.
The music discs in Final Fantasy 7 Remake feature updated versions of the game's many iconic musical themes, from the main game theme to individual character themes. There are also a couple of remixes thrown in to help emphasize that this is a Remake and not a remaster of Final Fantasy 7 with HD graphics.

There are a few chapters in Final Fantasy 7 Remake that don't have any music discs to collect and a few chapters that have a lot. Usually, the chapters that have a lot of music discs to collect involve Cloud and his party completing odd jobs before progressing the story.
There are also a couple of music discs that are unlocked by completing quests or secret objectives, and are not completely obvious. The music discs that are hard to miss are those that come from the vendors, as the music and on-screen prompt is enough to tell players that new music is nearby. It's very important to explore every corner of Final Fantasy 7 Remake's levels because there are some music discs tucked off the beaten path.
Once players have found all music discs in Final Fantasy 7 Remake they will unlock the Disc Jockey Trophy on PS4 (eventually the game will release for Xbox One and PC, but not yet). Collecting certain music discs is also important for completing an odd job from a little girl named Betty, and completing all of the odd jobs in the game is tied to its own trophy.
The good news is that if players do miss a music disc in their playthrough, they don't have to worry about starting over from the beginning or a previous save. Once Final Fantasy 7 Remake's story is complete, players will unlock a Chapter Select option that allows them to jump around the game with all of their current gear and at their final level.
