First of all, to get it out of the way, this article will have spoilers for Final Fantasy VII and the remake. With that out of the way, Jessie Rasberry was barely a character in the original. That’s why her death, as well as the other AVALANCHE members, in Sector 7 did not draw tears as opposed to when Aerith was slain.

Since players got to know her more in the remake, well, it was harder to see to say the least. Maybe she’s not dead yet? Who knows where the remakes will take fans given the fact that there are now multiple timelines, or parallel universes. Let’s not think about that right now and instead celebrate her as a character with some lovely memes.

10 Frag Doll

First of all, the entry is a joke in and of itself. The Frag Dolls were a group of dedicated female gamers that were founded in 2004 and eventually folded in 2015. They were also part of Ubisoft, which helped promote their games along with girl gamer culture. Jessie fits that bill, plus she has a grenade, so that’s the joke. Anyway, this moment is one of the best in the game even if it leads to her eventual death. Or does it?

9 Best Girl

In the PS1 original, most fans debated who should have ended up with Cloud. Should it have been the sweet Aerith, or the longtime friend from childhood, Tifa? Anyway, with the remake, there is a new female lead in town. And honestly, Jessie captured many hearts. She may be a bit too thirsty for Cloud, but it makes for some hilarious moments.

8 Dead Girl

Going back to her death, it’s hard to say if she really passed or not. After all, Wedge survived longer than he did in the original version, plus Biggs was seen in the last moments of the game.

Of course that scene may have been from Zack’s new timeline, and AVALANCHE’s trio in Cloud’s original universe may in fact be dead. It’s hard to say. Anyway, that ambiguity paired up with Jessie’s signature wink and saying, “Kidding,” makes for a fun meme.

7 Suppository Materia

To borrow a catchphrase from another comedian, what’s the deal with Materia? Is it the size of a melon, or is it comparable to a marble? The game is inconsistent with its representation. Regardless of size, the meme has another question in mind. Who needs a sword to equip magic, anyway?

6 Gold Saucer Dreams

There are some wild theories out there in regard to where the next part of the remake may head. One of those ideas has Cloud and the others not knowing they went into a parallel universe. This revelation would be teased up until Gold Saucer wherein it would come to a climactic meet up with Jessie. She’ll be performing on stage, like she talked about in part one, and also not recognize Cloud, nor AVALANCHE at all. If that whole actress thing was a tease without payoff then fans might be a little irate.

5 Pizza Time

It was more than a little messed for Jessie to have Cloud sneak into the bedroom of her bedridden father in order to steal a card. On top of that Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge all enjoyed a fantastic pizza without him. What kind of a job was that? It made for a good callback to the pizza joke in the original game though.

4 Social Distancing

As it was mentioned earlier, Jessie is a flirt. It can probably be assumed that she is one in general, but she is especially all over Cloud. Regardless of what she wants, Cloud couldn’t be any less interested. Giving the social distancing line is a good excuse in this meme.

3 A Whole New World

It's really hard not to meme Jessie’s acting prowess. Being so close to Cloud on the bike chase must have been a dream. It was almost like a magic carpet ride.

Just think about the wonders Jessie could open up for Cloud. Again, if she gets to perform at Gold Saucer in the sequel, let’s all hope she gets to sing, “A Whole New World.” It might sound a little far-fetched at first, but let’s not forget how close Disney and Square Enix are these days.

2 Thumbs Up

Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge are all constantly giving Cloud a thumbs up in the game. This seems to have trended away from Death Stranding wherein likes, or thumbs-up signals, were like currency. While praising one with a thumb may not have value in Midgar, it at least works for this meme.

1 Spoilers

Why was Final Fantasy VII Remake referred to as a remake? It’s only like a tenth of the whole, original game. That was a question many fans asked prior to the game’s launch. If they played and beat it, well, everything should have cleared up. This was a remake of Midgar, and with the end, it signals that the rest of the games might be more original. So calling them part 1, part 2, part 3, might not make a great deal of sense -- that is a popular theory at least.
