On Thursday, Square Enix held its Final Fantasy 7 25th Anniversary Celebration event. The event was packed full of Final Fantasy 7-related announcements, including the reveal of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, a Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 remaster, and more. To start off the event, however, Square Enix had a special announcement just for Steam PC gamers. Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, the complete version of Square Enix's reboot of Final Fantasy 7, is leaving Epic Games Store exclusivity and coming to Steam.

The confirmation of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade for Steam was only half of Square Enix's announcement, though. It seems Steam gamers won't have to wait long for the game. In fact, they won't have to wait at all. The other half of the announcement was the confirmation that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is coming to Steam tomorrow. It's not quite a shadow drop, but Steam gamers likely won't mind waiting a final 8 hours.

One other key confirmation that Square Enix went out of its way to make during its Final Fantasy 7 25th Anniversary Celebration revolves around Valve's new handheld PC platform, the Steam Deck. Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade has been Steam Deck verified for its launch. Steam Deck users will be able to play Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade as soon as it's available to download.

As many PC fans of Final Fantasy 7 already know, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade has been available on PC through the Epic Games Store for several months now. Square Enix announced the port as part of The Game Awards 2021 and launched it before Christmas. What appears to have been a 6-month exclusivity window is now ending, though, and Steam users will finally get to experience the final chapter of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade for themselves.

To help make up for the long wait, Square Enix is going to offer Steam Final Fantasy 7 fans a healthy discount to celebrate the game's release on the platform. For the launch window of Final Fantasy 7 Intergrade on Steam, it'll be discounted a healthy 29%. Steam users will appreciate that discount because the full version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade costs $69.99, the same price as the Epic Game Store and PS5 versions of the game.

Confirmation that a game already available on PC is coming to a new storefront may not be an announcement of a similar scale to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, but for dedicated Steam users it's still a special occasion. It's been a long wait for Final Fantasy 7 Remake to come to Steam and the day has finally arrived.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is available now on PC, PS4, and PS5.
