In anticipation for the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Square Enix has released a free demo on PS4 to give players a chance to familiarize themselves with the new game before its launch. However, it appears that the developers decided to sneak a secret or two into the game, and of course players have been quick to tear the demo apart to find them.

The secret comes at the end of the demo, and gives a little extra footage to the quick cut of clips from later on in the full version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake that plays once the opening mission has been completed. It's a small inclusion, but many fans may have missed it, depending on how confident they were on there grasp of the new fast-paced, hybrid combat system employed in the upcoming title.

The secret can only be accessed if, when placing the bomb that is intended to destroy the mako reactor, the player chooses to set the time for twenty minutes, instead of thirty. Depending on the player's choice, Barret will have a different line that he speaks to Cloud, and a different clip will play at the end of the ending video. If the player chooses to set the shorter time, then at the end of the demo, they will be treated to a very short clip of Cloud looking at someone in shock before the camera cuts to an HD rendering of the iconic shot of Sephiroth standing in the fire at Nibelheim.

Fortunately, obtaining this secret addition is fairly easy, as the timer for the bomb doesn't start until after fighting the Scorpion Sentinel, which would otherwise cause quite a bit of trouble. Once the timer actually starts, even a leisurely stroll back through the reactor and onto the end of the mission hardly takes longer than ten to fifteen minutes, so there is plenty of time to make it out. In that case, while some might miss the demo's secret ending, it isn't too difficult to go through and find it again on a second run.

However, whether looking to see what secrets are waiting to be discovered, or if players are just hyped for the game, this demo is something to check out for anyone who can. With Final Fantasy 7 Remake going gold and getting ready to hit store shelves soon, the hype is starting to get pretty real. From what we've seen already, this latest remake is looking to be a crowd-pleaser for veteran fans and new players alike.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is set to release on April 10th, 2020, for PS4.
