A list of brand new additions coming to the PSN has leaked, and with it has come a flood of new titles expected to land on the PSN in the near future. The biggest announcement coming along with this leak by far, however, is that the Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be getting a demo ahead of the March 3rd release date.

Square Enix hasn't currently made any official announcements regarding a demo for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, but if this leak is true, then that announcement may be coming soon. For now, it should be noted that this is alleged information with no official response from PlayStation or Square Enix at the time of writing.

The prospect of getting a demo for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake has already whipped up the fan base into full hype mode, as the general public waits to finally get their hands on the game. At the moment, players' only exposure to the game has been videos of gameplay and testimonials from those lucky enough to play at conventions and other times the game was made open to a select few. While those gameplay trailers have been exhilarating for fans, nothing beats getting to try out the game on a more personal level.

Square Enix has been very careful in the process of slowly drip feeding information out to players in teaser trailers staring Aerith and other fan favorite characters, along with small selections of familiar enough looking gameplay that fans will recognize from the original game. This could be why the company has been so hush-hush about the prospect of a demo as well, considering the nature of modern demo releases and the culture and practice of datamining. Any info that isn't carefully scrubbed from Final Fantasy 7's demo will quickly be pulled apart and spread across the internet.

The demo is still speculative as well as the other PSN additions that have been "leaked", but with the game coming so soon, it wouldn't be surprise for Square Enix to want to drum up some attention with such a high profile demo. This wouldn't be the first time that Square Enix has published a demo for a highly anticipated game, with the company releasing multiple demos for Final Fantasy 15 before its release. Whatever the future prospects of getting a little taste of Final Fantasy 7 may be, the full release of the remake is at least closer to the horizon than ever.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is set to release on March 3rd, 2020 for PS4.
