A lot of the latest promotions for the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake have focused on showing off the game's primary characters. Cloud Strife, for instance, just received a full trailer tailor-made to give old and new followers of the game more insight on his character.

This time around, the spotlight has shifted over to Aerith Gainsborough, a fan-favorite character who probably earned the love by being the most badass flower shop owner ever. The spotlight doesn't give her a full trailer like Cloud, but it does primarily focus on her.

The teaser comes from the Final Fantasy 7 Remake official Twitter account. It's less than thirty seconds and features a plethora of scenes showing off both Aerith's combat style and cutscene presence. It sees her casting powerful magic, and interacting with Cloud. Fans will find a lot of the teaser's imagery familiar as it's appeared in other trailers and promotions.

Beyond the teaser, the tweet does introduce something new for Aerith fans to consider. It links to some unique wallpapers and avatars featuring the character, so anyone looking to customize their home screens with Aerith's likeness can do so. And for any fans that didn't know before, Square Enix has some new (but expensive) jewelry based on the Aerith for sale.

Aerith plays a vital role in the original Final Fantasy 7, and it'll be interesting to see what Remake does with her when it releases. It plans to build upon the story of the original game, which, of course, means it'll delve deeper into the characters that populate it. In fact, a new character, Roche, will make his debut appearance in Final Fantasy 7 come Remake's release. How he'll interact with someone as genuine as Aerith should be fun to see.

The FF7 Remake will consist of several different parts in order to tell its new and expanded story, and this first installment will focus solely on Midgar (which only scratches the surface of the original FF7 story). Aerith grew up in Midgar's slums, which makes the city her hometown, so right out of the gate, Remake has the perfect excuse for further exploring her character. And this only part one of Remake, so there will be plenty of opportunities beyond it as well to try out new things – good news for fans looking to spend that much more time with their favorite flower merchant.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake will launch on March 3, 2020, for PlayStation 4.
