In the dedicated stage event during Tokyo Game Show 2023, Square Enix unveiled a lot of new information about Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Fans were treated to a pretty long gameplay preview of the action RPG sequel, which showcased Cloud, Barret, Tifa, Aerith, and Red XIII making their way through some grasslands outside Midgar. On the Square Enix website, the team provided in-depth details on how Red XIII fights in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. According to the post, the character's battle style is more "aggressively defensive," as compared to others in the party. Red XIII has a "Vengeance Mode" that players can activate in battle, amping up the character's attack power and movement speed. The mode's gauge fills up when Red XIII guards against enemy attacks, and players can activate this mode anytime as long as there is Vengeance left in the gauge.

Square Enix also lists down Red XIII's battle abilities, which they can activate through the use of ATB charges. Some of these abilities include Sidewinder, Sentinel Stance, Stardust Ray, and Crescent Claw, which the character will learn through the course of the video game. Of course, Red XIII will also have several Limit Breaks like Bloodfang and Howling Moon, which they can use when the Limit Break gauge is full. And for fans who are curious about the new Synergy Abilities in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Red XIII has Planetary Roar with Aerith, Savage Assault with Cloud, and Overfang with Barret.

Fans only have a few months to wait until the release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and those who favor Red XIII are likely very excited to finally fully control the character. The remake's sequel also offers more than just another playable character, as it promises new mini-games, and story content, among other things. Hopefully. Square Enix delivers and gives fans what they are looking for in the upcoming video game.
