Table of contents

As players progress through Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, they can unlock a variety of new costumes for the party. Many of these are unlocked during specific sections of the main story, with a few notable exceptions unlocked through optional content after the story is completed. Players can change the party's costumes at changing booths, initially only found in Costa del Sol. Changing Booths will appear in other locations after the game is completed.

This Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth guide will explain where and when each costume can be unlocked, while also discussing how to unlock Changing Booths in locations other than Costa del Sol. This means there will be minor spoilers ahead for the entire game, though information regarding the post-game will be marked in advance to help minimize spoiler risk.

How to Get Every Summon in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (All FF7 Rebirth Summons)

There are 14 Summons available in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, though players will need to put in quite a bit of work in order to unlock them all.

Cloud's Costumes

Cloud begins the game with access to his "Ex-Soldier: First Class" outfit. He will automatically acquire the "Midgar Infantry" uniform during Chapter 4, and can then unlock two swimsuits in Chapter 6. These are the "Ocean Chocobo" and "Wild Surf" outfits. To unlock both Swimsuits, players must complete all the "Costa del Amor" minigames available to Cloud and then trade in the Companion Cards for the outfits. You will only need one swimsuit to go down to the beach and progress the story, but it's best to grab both while you're in the area.

Aerith's Costumes

Aerith begins the game with access to her "Independent Florist" outfit, and will also acquire a "Midgar Infantry" uniform during Chapter 4. Much like Cloud, Aerith can unlock two swimsuits during Chapter 6 by completing minigames and trading in Companion Cards. Her swimsuits are the "Floral Delight" and "Pink Mermaid" outfits.

Tifa's Costumes

Tifa begins the game with the "Pride of Seventh Heaven" outfit, adding a "Midgar Infantry" uniform to her collection in Chapter 4. While hanging out at Costa del Sol with Aerith in Chapter 6, Tifa can trade in Companion Cards for two swimsuits. These swimsuits are the "Majestic Glamour" and "Shining Spirit" outfits.

Barret's Costumes

Barret only gets two costumes throughout the game, both of which are acquired automatically at key moments in the main story. Barret begins the game wearing his "Avalanche Cell Leader" outfit. He will eventually pick up a "Midgar Navy" uniform during Chapter 4, serving as a comical but stylish alternative to his normal look.

Yuffie's Costumes

Yuffie uniquely begins the game with three of her costumes unlocked, with her fourth unlocking automatically a little further into the game. Once Yuffie joins the party, she can immediately wear her "World's Greatest Materia Hunter" outfit and her "Summer Orange" swimsuit. She also has her "Moogle Hat & Cape" for covert ops. After arriving at the Gold Saucer in Chapter 8, Yuffie will receive the incredibly stylish "Wutai Pop Star" outfit from Cait Sith.

Red XIII & Cait Sith

Red XIII and Cait Sith do not have any accessible costumes before the story is finished.

Post-Game Costumes and Changes

FF7Chocobos

After completing the Story, players will gain access to additional Changing Booths. These can be found at every Chocobo Ranch in the game and used to change the party's costumes while exploring. Reaching the Post-Game will also unlock two extra costumes, one for Red XIII and one for Cait Sith.

Red XIII's "Hellhound" costume can be purchased from the Gold Saucer GP Exchange for 1,000 points. This costume gives him a black and red color scheme. Meanwhile, Cait Sith can acquire the "Court Jester" costume from the GP Exchange for the same price. This costume swaps his crown for a Jester's Cap and changes his cape.
