Fans of the original Final Fantasy 7's Hell House enemy were ecstatic upon discovering its new and improved rendition in the Remake. Now acting as the final boss in the Corneo Colosseum, the Hell House was given an array of new abilities alongside a much-needed graphical improvement.

Hell House wasn't the only original enemy to receive a boss battle in Final Fantasy 7 Remake, so it is safe to assume that Rebirth will attempt to do the same with some yet-to-be-seen enemies. With an incredibly large catalog at its disposal, fans are eager to see the enemies Square Enix deems worthy of the Hell House treatment.

10 Dragon

The Dragon in Final Fantasy 7

Fought during Cloud's return to Nibelheim, the Dragon is one of the most deadly enemies present in the early stages of Final Fantasy 7. Capable of killing Cloud with one hit, the only way to best this foe is to permit Sephiroth to deal the killing blow.

The Dragon has the potential to be an incredibly powerful boss fight in the Remake, but only if the battle allows for more control than what the original did. Implemented to briefly showcase Sephiroth's strength, the Dragon deserves fairer treatment in the upcoming sequel.

9 Ghirofelgo

The Ghirofelgo in Final Fantasy 7

The unveiling of the Rebirth trailer allowed fans to see a rough timeline for the series' future. Confirmed to be the second installment in a trilogy, fragments of the upcoming game's progression can be theorized.

If the player is given the chance to explore Final Fantasy 7's Shinra Mansion located in Nibelheim, they will likely encounter the Ghirogelgo, a half-man half-axe hybrid who suspends himself from the mansion's ceiling. As one of the more frightening enemies featured in the original, it is not unlikely for him to return for a spectacular new battle.

8 Ghost Ship

FFVII Underwater Reactor Ghost Ship

Final Fantasy 7 Remake implemented a variety of familiar monsters with many of the original's late-game enemies appearing much earlier than they once did. Due to the lack of enemy restrictions, there is a chance that the Ghost Ship may return with a frightening new design.

Once confined to Junon's Underwater Reactor, the Ghost Ship was arguably one of the more intimidating foes present in the original game. The skeleton-boat combination makes for one of the more unusual enemy designs in Final Fantasy, rendering it likely to return at some point during the Remake trilogy.

7 Dragon Zombie

FFVII Northern Cave Dragon Zombie

Upon entering the Northern Crater, Cloud and his companions will be forced to compete in some of the most demanding battles available in Final Fantasy 7. Though each fight is not without its challenges, many regard the Dragon Zombie as the most difficult enemy lurking in the crater's depths.

The Dragon Zombie is the only enemy in the game to cast Pandora's Box, a powerful magic-based spell that features a nerve-wracking animation. Summoning a giant question mark before dealing heavy damage, this bizarre ability deserves its moment in the spotlight to convey how intimidating both it and its caster were in the original.

6 Hungry

The Hungry in Final Fantasy 7

Native to the mountain town of Corel, the Hungry is one of the most intelligent enemies present in the original JRPG. Capable of inflicting Small on those who oppose it, the Hungry will eat a miniaturized party member if they are not quickly cured of their ailment.

As one of the smaller enemies in the original, a Hungry boss fight could make for an exceptionally comical battle in Rebirth. Capable of kicking multiple characters from the battle, the player would need to act quickly and efficiently to have any hope of truly besting it.

5 Iron Man

The Iron Man in Final Fantasy 7

The Iron Man is one of the last enemies to be introduced in the 1997 game. Towering over the party in the depths of the Northern Crater, this armor-clad beast serves to diminish a party's sense of morale before their destined encounter with Sephiroth.

If the terrifying size of the Iron Man isn't enough to strike fear in the player, its ability to slash the entire party in one attack certainly is. Like Final Fantasy's recurring Iron Giant enemy, the Iron Man is capable of delivering devastating damage, leaving Cloud and his companions crippled as they approach the game's final boss.

4 Bomb

The Bomb in Final Fantasy 7

The Bomb is a recurring enemy that features in multiple Final Fantasy entries. With the King Bomb of Final Fantasy 12 fame becoming one of the more iconic fights in Final Fantasy, it would be enjoyable to see the floating grenade return once more or another high-staked battle.

While crossing the bridge of Mt. Corel, the player will likely happen upon this deceptively sweet foe. Though it poses little to no real challenge in combat, its iconic design renders it a promising contender for a spectacular return.

3 Madouge

Madouge in Final Fantasy 7

The Madouge's design pays a great deal of homage to the body horror genre. Though some of its features resemble that of a human, this grotesque amalgamation of misplaced skin is possibly one of the most unsettling enemy designs present in the entire Final Fantasy series.

Initially encountered while exploring the Mythril Mines, the Madouge's primary means of attacking the party is seen through the use of its right arm. Like Barret, the Madouge chose to replace its missing limb with a weapon, and, though its choice was much less practical, this mace-swinging foe can pose a great challenge to those who encounter it unprepared.

2 Death Dealer

The Death Dealer in Final Fantasy 7

No matter how well one prepares for their encounter with the infamous Death Dealer, they will not be guaranteed an easy victory. This decrepit magician may seem to pose little threat upon first inspection but, unfortunately for the player, it harbors several tricks up its elegant sleeves.

If the Death Dealer were to be given its own boss battle, it could pose an even deadlier threat than that of Final Fantasy 7's Tonberry. Its Roulette attack can instantly KO a party member, but sometimes it will choose to heal them. A boss fight with this erratic entity would force a player to rely on luck instead of skill.

1 Marlboro

Marlboro from Final Fantasy VII

The Marlboro has become something of a celebrity in the Final Fantasy series, particularly due to its Bad Breath ability. Capable of inflicting an entire party with multiple game-ending status effects, this tentacled monstrosity is arguably one of the most dangerous enemies in the entire franchise.

Present in the Remake through the virtual reality simulator, the Marlboro's presence evokes fear, but not nearly as much as it has in prior installments. A boss fight with this terrifying foe in Rebirth could allow for a much more difficult encounter depending on the status effects the game chooses to incorporate.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is scheduled to release in Winter 2023.
