During the previous chapter of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Cloud and the others managed to overcome all the dangers of the Temple of the Ancients and find the Black Materia. Of course, Sephiroth managed to get his hands on it in the end. The fourteenth chapter is the final one, and it brings this second part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy to a close. While this chapter is fairly short in comparison to the rest of the game, the final boss fight is certainly a challenge. Here is what you can expect in Chapter 14: End of the World.

Since this is the final chapter, there are significant spoilers ahead. Proceed with caution.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Review

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is an epic-scale adventure with an unforgettable cast of characters that will keep players busy for dozens of hours.

The Illusion of Choice

final fantasy 7 rebirth chapter 14 walkthrough 2

After the cutscenes end, follow Aerith downstairs to trigger another cutscene. Soon after, you will have to choose a gift for Aerith. The choices are as follows.

  • The Pink Hairclip
  • The Gold Bracelet
  • The Stamp Figurine

After you've made your choice, the stall owner will give you a different item instead. Next, Aerith will take your hand and drag you over to a stall selling snacks. Once again, you have three options to choose from.

  • Stamp's Champs
  • Cosmo Candy
  • Chocosticks

Once again, choice doesn't seem to matter here, as the vendor gives you a different snack all together. Following a couple of cutscenes, you will then have to pick a pose for the camera. Again, the choice didn't seem to matter here either. Follow Aerith and you will be transported to the church in Sector 5.

Follow Aerith

final fantasy 7 rebirth chapter 14 walkthrough 3

Following a lengthy, extremely surreal cutscene, you will be in a new area and in combat with three Whispers. This battle is more of an interactive cutscene than actual combat, as you don't have a health bar and no accessible abilities. Kill the Whispers and then move forward. Keep killing any Whispers that get in your way. Keep going until you trigger another cutscene.

Follow Aerith as she walks off, ignoring the white Whispers as they swarm around you. As you fall to the ground, hold L2 or R2 as prompted to trigger another cutscene.

Follow the Whispers

final fantasy 7 rebirth chapter 14 walkthrough 4

Before long, you will be back with the rest of the party as they look for Aerith. Go straight as you follow the direction the Whispers were flying in. There is nothing to find in this area, so just keep going straight while listening to the party talk. Before long, you will find yourself at the Forgotten Capital. Once you regain control of the party, make sure to save.

Once you jump down in pursuit of Sephiroth, you will enter a battle against the white Whispers. Unlike the Whispers you fought earlier, this is an actual fight. They are not weak to anything. After beating the Whispers, Cloud will be on his own. Venture down and get onto the elevator as it appears.

final fantasy 7 rebirth chapter 14 walkthrough 5

Once you reach the bottom, you will get a warning that this is the last spot to rest and prepare before you reach Aerith. Take this time to get yourself ready, as the final boss is just around the corner. So save your game, rest, and purchase anything you might need. Once you are ready, leave the rest area and go east. Keep moving closer to Aerith. Hold down L2 or R2 to get closer when the Whispers try to push you back.

final fantasy 7 rebirth chapter 14 walkthrough 6

At one point, you will need to rapidly press L2 and R2 at the same time while the PS5 controller maxes out the resistance of the haptic triggers.

6 Things Final Fantasy 17 Could Learn From Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Now that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is out, the game does so many things right that Final Fantasy 17, when it finally arrives, needs to have taken notes.

How to Beat Jenova Lifeclinger

final fantasy 7 rebirth chapter 14 walkthrough 7

Jenova Lifeclinger has no weaknesses, and is resistant to ice and wind damage. When the boss casts Eye of Providence, move away from the blue sphere that appears to avoid taking damage.

Shortly after this, Jenova Lifeclinger will create a barrier that protects her from physical damage. Use magic on the barrier to destroy it. Destroying the barrier will inflict a significant amount of pressure onto the boss. But be ready, as she will cast Vengeance in retaliation. Stay out of the purple beams to avoid taking damage. If you are aggressive enough, you can stagger the boss shortly after the barrier falls.

Damage Jenova Lifeclinger as much as possible while she is staggered and then quickly move away when she casts Contaminant Expulsion. Once this goes off, your party members (except for Cloud) will be banished from the battlefield. Fortunately, this doesn't last long and the rest of your party soon returns to the action.

final fantasy 7 rebirth chapter 14 walkthrough 8

When Jenova Lifeclinger casts Desecration, move so that you are directly under her. If timed correctly, all the red beams she shoots will miss you completely. Once Jenova Lifeclinger reaches roughly 33% health, your party will change. You will continue the fight with just Tifa and Cait Sith. Focus on taking out the right wing, and then you will switch to Barret and Red XIII.

final fantasy 7 rebirth chapter 14 walkthrough 9

Focus your damage on the left wing while dodging Jenova Lifeclinger's usual attacks. Once the left wing has been destroyed, you will switch to Cloud and Yuffie. Focus all your damage on Jenova Lifeclinger's head. This will bring the fight into its final phase.

At this point, the only target will be just Jenova Lifeclinger. Move away when Jenova Lifeclinger conjures a storm of fireballs that rain down on you and your party. After a while, the boss becomes immune to physical damage. Use magic until the shield falls. If you can stagger Jenova Lifeclinger one more time, you'll have a good opening to unleash any Limit Breaks you've been saving and kill her.

Final Fantasy 7: 6 Biggest Weaknesses Sephiroth Has

Sephiroth can seem like an insurmountable enemy in Final Fantasy 7, but a few flaws can put him on the back foot.

How to Beat Sephiroth

final fantasy 7 rebirth chapter 14 walkthrough 10

Unsurprisingly, you are not done yet. After Jenova Lifeclinger falls, Zack appears and joins the fight against Sephiroth. Using Assess gives you absolutely no useful information about Sephiroth other than the fact that he has no weaknesses, has significantly less health than the previous boss, and is immune to every negative debuff in the game.

Move away from Sephiroth when he casts Skewer. Sephiroth is surprisingly easy to stagger with abilities. As Sephiroth reaches low health, he will cast Octaslash. Move away from this to avoid getting hit by the follow-up attack. Once Sephiroth's health reaches zero, Zack is kicked out of the battle.

How to Beat Sephiroth Reborn

final fantasy 7 rebirth chapter 14 walkthrough 11

It wouldn't be a Final Fantasy game if the final boss didn't have multiple forms, would it? Sephiroth Reborn has 54,240 HP and has no weaknesses. Wait for the Whisper tornadoes to clear out and then go under Sephiroth Reborn. Target the body (the weak point) and try to do as much damage to it as possible. Sephiroth seems to realize this is his weak point as well, as he will knock you away once you land a hit or two on his body. Wait for the Whispers to clear, and then move in to resume damaging the body.

final fantasy 7 rebirth chapter 14 walkthrough 12

Once the body is crippled, you will have to climb up Sephiroth. This will take you up to the next area in this fight. You will fight the upper torso of Sephiroth Reborn. While none of Sephiroth's attacks do an insane amount of damage during this phase, you should still try to block or dodge as much as possible.

final fantasy 7 rebirth chapter 14 walkthrough 13

Once you've done enough damage to Sephiroth, the next phase will begin. The rest of the party will have to fight Bahamut Arisen Whisper. After a while, Bahamut Arisen Whisper will cast Gigaflare. Make sure your party is fully healed up or buffed to minimize the amount of damage this does.

Once Bahamut Arisen Whisper has been slain, Sephiroth Reborn's wings will become available for targeting. Cripple one and them and then be ready to kill Bahamut Arisen Whisper again as it somehow revives. Cripple the last wing and then kill Bahamut Arisen Whisper one last time.

final fantasy 7 rebirth chapter 14 walkthrough 14

After this, the next phase of the final battle begins. You play as Zack as he fights Sephiroth Reborn as well. Interestingly, Sephiroth Reborn retains the same level of health and pressure level as he did while fighting Cloud. Shortly on into the fight, a face will appear on Sephiroth. Focus on it and attack it to pressure Sephiroth Reborn.

final fantasy 7 rebirth chapter 14 walkthrough 15

Once you've done enough damage, the game will switch back to Tifa, Red XIII, and Yuffie. In order to damage the core, you must cripple the wings again. The tricky part about the wings is that they shift their elemental affinity regularly. Pay attention to the color of the wings and hit them with the opposite element. Once both wings have been destroyed, you will be able to damage and destroy the core.

Watch out for Heartless Angel. This nasty attack will reduce the HP of every party member down to 1. Make sure to save at least one ATB command so that you can use a Mist Potion immediately to heal the entire party back up.

After recovering from Heartless Angel, use everything you've got to take out Sephiroth to bring this final battle to its, well, final phase.

final fantasy 7 rebirth chapter 14 walkthrough 16

During this final fight, Aerith will join in. When Sephiroth plungs his weapon into the ground and summons a tornado of Whispers, use magic to do damage to the sword from a distance. If you manage to destroy it, you will build up a significant amount of pressure on Sephiroth.

final fantasy 7 rebirth chapter 14 walkthrough 17

Sephiroth will continue to use Skewer like he did earlier on in this crazy long boss battle. When Sephiroth casts Errant Whisper, keep moving and dodge the Whispers that shoot up from the ground. Sephiroth will also cast Heartless Angel during this phase as well, so be ready for that with either consumables or Aerith's Limit Break. He will keep casting it, which makes this a race against time.

As Sephiroth gets lower on health, he will start shooting a large beam attack. You have to stagger him before he finishes this attack, or it is game over. However, if you can stagger him and deplete his health, you will have successfully completed Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. All that's left is to watch the ending.
