Square Enix revealed the Collector's Edition of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which is now available for preorders. The limited-edition bundle was announced during the latest PlayStation State of Play livestream.

Sony's September 14 broadcast featured a new trailer for the second entry in Square Enix's planned trilogy of Final Fantasy 7 remakes. And though the three-minute promo revealed plenty of new gameplay footage, its main highlight was the long-awaited confirmation of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's release date: February 29, 2024.

Following up on that announcement, Square Enix also revealed the Collector's Edition of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which is now available at $349.99, thus being even more expensive than the cost-prohibitive 1st Class Edition of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. However, the limited-edition bundle is not lacking in quality merch, with the star of the show being a 19-inch statue of Sephiroth. An exclusive steelbook and hardback artbook are also part of the package, as is a CD of the game's abridged soundtrack. The included physical copy of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth comes with a reversible cover, as well as a redeemable code for all the digital goodies attached to the $99.99 Deluxe Edition of the game.

  • Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (physical copy with reversible cover)
  • Exclusive steelbook
  • Hardback artbook
  • Mini soundtrack CD
  • 19-inch Sephiroth statue
  • FF7R Deluxe Edition DLC
    • Accessory: Reclaimant Choker
    • Armor: Midgar Bangle Mk. II
    • Armor: Orchid Bracelet
    • Magic Pot Summoning Materia

The only bonus not included in the most expensive version of the JRPG is a Moogle Trio Summoning Materia pack, which is exclusive to its Digital Deluxe Edition. That's hardly a major omission, as the upcoming game will presumably allow players to also discover the said summoning item through regular play, much like Final Fantasy 7 Remake did.

Despite its steep price tag, the Collector's Edition of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth isn't likely to stay in stock for long. Fans interested in pre-ordering the bundle can only do so via the Square Enix Store. There's no precedent to assume that this limited-edition collection will make a return should the game ever reach other platforms. For context, the 1st Class Edition of Final Fantasy 7 Remake was also only available to PS4 owners, while its enhanced version for the PS5 and PC lacked such a premium bundle.

Fans eager to play the second game in the FF7 remake trilogy will need to do so on the PS5, anyway. Namely, while Square Enix's track record suggests that the game will eventually arrive on PC, the Japanese gaming giant has yet to confirm that. As a reminder, Final Fantasy 7 Remake spent 20 months as a PlayStation exclusive before finally reaching PC in December 2021.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is coming to PS5 on February 29, 2024.
