Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis's next chapter, titled "Cloud's Memories," was revealed in a new teaser trailer. The snippets of the story shown in the trailer focus on Cloud and Sephiroth's forever-intertwined relationship earlier in their life as SOLDIERs working for the Shinra Corporation. Square Enix also announced that the new chapter is available to play starting November 19.

Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis Chapter 4 Release Date

The trailer starts at Aerith's house in the Sector 5 slums in Midgar, where the party consisting of Cloud, Barret, Tifa, Aerith, and Red XIII listen to Cloud recount his memories from five years before the game's events. The video then shows clips from Cloud and Sephiroth's visit to the former's hometown of Nibelheim, where they see Jenova imprisoned in a tank, all of which fans of the original game will be familiar with. The trailer ends with a look at a big green dragon, seemingly the final boss of the chapter.

Despite only being released a few months ago, Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis is already being hailed by some Final Fantasy fans for fleshing out the game's world, especially when it comes to fan-favorite character Sephiroth. The first three chapters have already further elaborated on the characters' backgrounds while staying faithful to the pace of the original game, such as how Chapter 3 shows details of Sephiroth and his mother early in the story.

However, there are also some fans who are concerned about how Ever Crisis's story progression is faster than the Remake series, with post-Midgar events already happening in the game before Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth releases in 2024. If Applibot stays true to its promise of delivering monthly episodes, at this rate Ever Crisis may reach the story points from Final Fantasy 7's Disc 3 or even the spin-off games by the time Rebirth comes out.
