When thinking of the Final Fantasy series, a staple is the appearance of the creatures known as Moogles. Oftentimes providing a healthy dose of cuteness and comic relief, the Moogle can once again be seen in Final Fantasy 16. But rather than taking it easy, Nektar the Moogle is an important figure that all players should get used to seeing and talking to.

Found in the hideaway, this furry individual is in charge of the Hunt Board in Final Fantasy 16, providing an avenue in which players can embark on optional hunts to bring down Notorious Marks out in Valisthea. These creatures are much more dangerous than their usual brethren, but with the promise of rich rewards, it can be tough not to engage in this activity.

Notorious Marks Bounty Hunts in Final Fantasy 16

Access to the Bounty Hunt board is unavailable initially and requires story progression before Nektar finds its next calling. Once players have defeated Garuda and are trying to reach the next quest location, they will find an Ahriman, the first Notorious Mark in Final Fantasy 16.

Notorious Marks Bounty Hunts in Final Fantasy 16

A Notorious Mark is defined as a creature that is larger, faster, and more ferocious than most. Preparing to take on these monsters is no easy task, as depending on their grade, they can be several levels above Clive's current level. However, as stated, there is much reward in taking them down. Renown points, XP, and rare materials can be obtained by embarking on these hunts.

After returning to the hideaway, locate Nektar next to the Patron's Whisper, and the fun of the Hunt Board can begin. Players will be able to check out reports of fiends terrorizing Valisthea, with details about its location revealed alongside the rewards. Notorious Marks rank from C all the way to S, so be prepared for all sorts of danger when going on a hunt.

The Hunt Board and all of these Notorious Marks are not just a great way to obtain rare materials for crafting and upgrading, but they are also linked with the Think, Mark! trophy in Final Fantasy 16.

Players will have to eliminate at least 10 Notorious Marks before the trophy is obtained, and with the Hunt Board requiring some time to fill up, players are safe to proceed with the rest of the story first.

Once there are enough marks on the Hunt Board, players are free to go on a hunting spree and bring down as many Notorious Marks as they can. The XP and Renown are always welcome, but the rare materials are the true reward here, allowing the blacksmith to create even more powerful weapons and gear for Clive to use.

Final Fantasy 16 is exclusively available for PlayStation 5.
