Gil is the primary currency in Final Fantasy 16, and players can earn it in many different ways. While it is not particularly difficult to amass a stockpile of Gil, fans may want more information about its uses before they start spending it in large quantities. This guide is here to provide that information, and it will help players determine how they should spend their Gil in Final Fantasy 16.

Before providing details about what fans should buy with their Gil, it is worth noting that it is not recommended that they buy many swords, belts, and vambraces from merchants. Indeed, players will replace this gear in FF16 fairly regularly through the crafting and looting systems, and it is not really necessary to put any Gil towards the items that are available in shops.

Final Fantasy 16: What to Do With Gil

Buy Accessories

There are numerous accessories that can only be obtained by purchasing them from the game's various merchants, and it is recommended that players put their Gil toward buying some of them. In particular, fans are advised to purchase On Fortunes and the Heavens (+15% EXP) and The Wages of Warcraft (+20% AP) from Charon's Toll when they become available, as they speed up Clive's progression considerably. Players could also consider picking up some accessories that improve Eikon Abilities, and this complete FF16 accessory list will help them determine which ones are exclusively obtained with Gil.

Buy Orchestration Rolls

Orchestration Rolls are collectibles in FF16, and 10 of them must be purchased with significant sums of Gil. While it is certainly not requisite that these Curiosities be bought, and there is no trophy associated with doing so, players that have all the accessories that they want might as well pick them up. To note, all 10 of the purchasable Orchestration Rolls will eventually be available through Charon's Toll, and interested fans should simply keep their eyes on her inventory.

ff16 what to spend gil on

Earn the Eureka Trophy

The Eureka trophy instructs players to spend 36,000 Gil at the Tub & Crown, and it provides an opportunity to offload some of the currency. For full clarity, the Tub & Crown is situated directly next to Charon's Toll in the Hideaway after FF16's Home, Sweet Home main quest has been initiated, and selecting the "Buy a round for the hall" option four times is the best way to earn the achievement.

Buy Potions

While players may not find themselves low on Potions and High Potions very often, and indeed those consumables are replenished upon death, they can still consider topping off their supplies when they are near a merchant. Fans could also use their Gil to purchase Lionheart Tonics, which are quite powerful and can be found at any merchant in the game. That said, it is certainly possible to beat FF16 without ever buying a single potion, and this option is primarily for fans that have run out of other uses for their Gil.
