However, in the latest batch of videos, Naoki Yoshida stated that felt fans wanted more from the world of Valisthea and its characters, and revealed that the team was developing at least two DLCs for Final Fantasy 16 that will allegedly release on both platforms. It's unknown which content the premium expansions will tackle, whether they will be standalone or part of the base game, but Final Fantasy 16 players are hoping for a confrontation with Leviathan in one of the DLCs, as well as more information on Cid's backstory.

In addition to the expansion packs, Final Fantasy 16 received free DLC content for the PS5 that gave Clive and his companions new outfits, as well as introduced a glamour system for weapons, allowing players to mix-and-match the stats of one sword with the appearance of another. The alternate outfits for Clive, Joshua, and Jill also come bundled with a new skin for Torgal, as well as new barding for Ambrosia, Clive's faithful white chocobo.

Though the game largely released without major bugs, Square Enix has given Final Fantasy 16 regular updates with performance fixes and new content, as the latest one implemented leaderboards to Final Fantasy 16's Arcade Mode. Though it may take a while for PC players to delve into the world of Valisthea, or for fans to see the continuation of Final Fantasy 16's story, the general consensus seems to be that the Final Fantasy franchise is in good hands.
