Scarletite is a material in Final Fantasy 16 that is used in the crafting of the Drakeslayer's Belt, Drakeslayer's Bracelets, and Excalibur. While each of those items only requires one Scarletite to make, players may find it difficult to track down even this small quantity of the material. For those players that are indeed struggling to find Scarletite in Final Fantasy 16, this guide details several sources from which it can be obtained.

Final Fantasy 16: Scarletite Location

Final Fantasy 16's Hunt Board is the primary way by which players can earn Scarletite. Indeed, there are four Notorious Marks that award one or two of the material when slain, and they are as follows:

While players can get all the Scarletite that they need from tracking down these Notorious Marks, there is also a side quest that awards the material. Specifically, that quest is called Hot Water, and fans can initiate it by speaking with Xaver in the Dhalmekian Republic's Dalimil Inn. For the sake of full clarity, the location of this NPC has been marked on the following map, and players can visit him after completing Follow the Crystals, an objective that Riddle of the Sands main quest.

With respect to what players must do in order to finish Hot Water, the quest centers around slaying several bombs that are at the nearby Doeznov Terraces. The waypoints that are provided in-game make completing this task very easy, and Xaver will hand over the Scarletite when the job is done. He will also award the Breath of the Inferno (Ignition), an accessory that reduces Ignition cooldown by 2.2 seconds, which is sure to be of interest to some players.

To note, Scarletite is not the only rare material that is required to craft the Drakeslayer's Belt, Drakeslayer's Bracelets, and Excalibur. Indeed, players will also need to track down FF16's Electrum, Gelatinous Mass, and Bomb Ember if they hope to create all of these items. As some fans may expect, those crafting materials are all obtained by defeating Notorious Marks, further highlighting the import of engaging with the Hunt Board system when it becomes available.
