Electrum is a material in Final Fantasy 16 that is used in the crafting of the Darkslayer's Belt, a piece of equipment that provides 23 HP and 74 Defense. While it is not extremely difficult to obtain this material, it does require players to target a very specific source. This guide is here to provide details on that source, and it will help fans get their hands on some Electrum in Final Fantasy 16.

Final Fantasy 16: Electrum Location

In order to earn Electrum, players must defeat Severian, a Level 31, Rank B Notorious Mark that is posted on FF16's Hunt Board after finishing the Fire and Ice main quest. For the uninitiated, the Hunt Board becomes available in Cid's Hideaway after completing The Gathering Storm main quest, and it gives players the opportunity to earn a variety of rewards by tracking down and slaying challenging monsters.

To note, while the Hunt Board will provide some information about Severian's location, it does not reveal its precise position. Fortunately, this Notorious Mark always appears in the same spot, which is to the northwest of the Martha's Rest Obelisk within the Imperial Province of Rosaria. Players can see this location marked on the following map, and they should make sure that they are prepared for a fight before approaching it.

With respect to how that fight unfolds, Severian has three primary attacks of which players should be aware. The first of those attacks is a lunge, and it is telegraphed by Severian pulling back its sword. When that occurs, players should get ready to execute a precision dodge in FF16, which will give them a window within which they can deal some significant damage to the Notorious Mark.

The next of Severian's attacks is a two-part area-of-effect strike in which the monster electrifies two areas in its vicinity. To deal with this assault, Final Fantasy fans should quickly move away from Severian when a dome appears around it, and they should run toward the Notorious Mark as soon as that dome dissipates.

The final tool in Severian's toolbox is Eradicate, an attack that can deal some serious damage to FF16's Clive. Fortunately, "Eradicate" will appear onscreen just before this strike begins, making it quite easy to get adequate distance from the monster before its blades start spinning. That spinning is followed up with a lunge attack, though, and fans should be ready to dodge out of the way.
