A Final Fantasy 16 fan and artist created a fantastic depiction of Clive Rosfield, the game's main protagonist, and posted a picture of their finished handiwork for all to see. On social media, Final Fantasy 16 fans praised the artist for their style and their depiction of Final Fantasy's newest protagonist. The artist was also complimented for their honesty in the creative process.

In Final Fantasy 16, players control Clive Rosfield as he progresses through three major stages in his life. His tale starts in his teens as a Shield of Rosaria and continues through his 20s and 30s during his quest to avenge his younger brother Joshua, the Dominant of the Phoenix. Though Clive's quest quickly becomes more than he initially bargained for, that has not stopped him from retaining his kindness and his devotion to his family and allies throughout his journey. These intangible traits have already made Clive a standout Final Fantasy protagonist in the short time that Final Fantasy 16 has been available, and resulted in fan artists taking up their kits and creating their takes on the fiery hero.

On Reddit, a user named TylorHepnerArt posted their version of Clive on the Gaming subreddit. According to the artist, he used digital programs to paint Clive and other Final Fantasy protagonists in a style reminiscent of oil-on-canvas paintings. In this depiction of Clive, TylorHepnerArt chose a nighttime background as a contrast to Clive's flames, with the full moon shining on the top left. Clive is seen in his red and black attire, facing towards the right with his sword Invictus in his right hand. As the flames of his Eikon Ifrit swell from the bottom of the painting, it appears that Clive is either casting a Fire spell at an unseen target or preparing to transform into Ifrit. To avoid his art being plagiarized, TylorHepnerArt hid some watermarks throughout the painting and placed his signature on the bottom right.

The artwork of Clive from TylorHepnerArt received over 1.5k upvotes on the Gaming subreddit within a day. In the comments, Final Fantasy 16 fans thanked the OP for his depiction of Clive. In one comment, a user lamented the growing trend of AI art in video games, but the OP reassured them that they did not use any AI programs and pointed to a video of their artwork as it was made.

While Final Fantasy 16 was advertised as a complete game from start to finish, the dedication from fans and the sales of the game prompted the development team to consider releasing DLC in the future. Only time will tell what that will turn out to be.
