It's been quite some time since Final Fantasy 15 officially released to the public, as Square Enix initially launched the role-playing game back in 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The title then released in March of this year for PC, which has led to the publisher and developer finally releasing the official mod tools for the RPG that were promised to fans several months ago when Hajime Tabata stated he was looking into creating a dedicated level editor for the PC version.

As of now, the mods supported by Final Fantasy 15 Windows Edition include models, costumes, and weapons meaning that fans will be able to change out characters such as Noctis for another figure entirely, alter his or another character's clothes, or transmogrify the look of the game's various pieces of equipment. No doubt, this will lead to plenty of fun shenanigans from fans, as many will try to make Noctis and his crew look as zany as possible in a wide variety of garish get-ups.

For those who may not be familiar with the modding community, the ability to alter titles such as Final Fantasy 15 often results in modders attempting to one-up each other with the most oddball assets that can replace the product's original materials. For instance, Thomas the Tank Engine is a favorite mod to use in a variety of different games, with the Fallout franchise having seen its fair share of the train-based character. Bearing this in mind, there's a high chance that the Quartz Regalia will get its own facelift with the fictional steam locomotive in the days to come.

Taking everything into consideration, it's great to see Square Enix finally come through with its promise for modding in Final Fantasy 15, as the feature will let fans of the game assume practically any role they wish with the title's characters now. Without a doubt, there will be a lot of folks who take advantage of the modding tools in order to bring FF7's Cloud Strife into the most recent entry's world.

Final Fantasy 15 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
