Final Fantasy 14 pulled back the curtain on what is coming in Patch 6.3 next week with the preliminary notes for the update. The preliminary notes were released with just a few days to go until Final Fantasy 14 players get their hands on Patch 6.3, Gods Revel, Lands Tremble.

Earlier this week, Final Fantasy 14 producer and director Naoki "Yoshi-P" Yoshida released a New Year's Day letter to players and thanked them for their continued support of the game. Yoshida also noted that Final Fantasy 14 will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the game's relaunch throughout the year, and encouraged players to stay tuned for updates from both Final Fantasy 14 and the upcoming PS5 timed exclusive Final Fantasy 16.

Final Fantasy 14 Patch 6.3 will be released on January 10, and the preliminary notes ahead of the update were posted on the Lodestone website on January 6. The preliminary patch notes did not go into detail about Job balance changes, including the planned paladin rework, as those details will be covered in the full notes in the coming days. Content such as The Omega Protocol (Ultimate) raid and the continuation of the Manderville relic weapon quests will be available in Patch 6.31 and Patch 6.35, respectively. Players that want to do the new main story quests first will want to log out in the city of Radz-at-Han before maintenance, as the quest "Once More Unto the Void" will be available from Varshahn. The main story will take players to the new Lapis Manalis dungeon as well as through a mysterious 8-player trial encounter. The identity of the trial's boss will remain a secret for players to discover in the main story. Click here to read the full patch notes.

Players that want to begin the Euphrosyne alliance raid will want to head for Mor Dhona and speak with Deryk to begin the quest "Return to the Phantom Realm" and unlock the raid instance. Players looking to enter Euphrosyne will need an item level of 595 or higher, and any loot obtained from Euphrosyne can only be received once per week. Also, a new Unreal trial will be added for level 90 players that want to challenge an updated version of Sophia from the Heavensward expansion's Warring Triad trial series.

A new chapter in Tataru's Grand Endeavor arrives in Patch 6.3. In addition, some quality-of-life updates will also be made to the island sanctuary, a new custom delivery client for crafters and gatherers to meet, and a new Crystalline Conflict arena will be added to the rotation. The Duty Support system will also be updated to include the rest of the Heavensward main story dungeons for players that want to run them with a party of NPCs. All in all, a bevy of content awaits Final Fantasy 14 players in Patch 6.3.

Final Fantasy 14 is available for PC, PS4, and PS5.
