Final Fantasy 14's answer to faction reputations in an MMORPG is none other than its Beast Tribes system. Each expansion, as well as the base game itself, has introduced a couple of beast tribes to the game, offering unique – and subjectively speaking – somewhat worthwhile rewards to pursue.

What Beast Tribes Are And How They Work

In Final Fantasy 14, players can engage with friendly factions outside the Grand Companies by starting their respective questlines, signified with a specific blue quest marker. The first quest usually serves as an introduction to the beast tribe and serves to unlock access to the Beast Tribe Dailies associated with that faction. Other quests unlock as the player progresses and improve their relations with the beast tribe they are courting, thus progressing the story and unlocking new rewards to purchase. Overall, the system is quite reminiscent of the reputations seen in World of Warcraft's Mists of Pandaria expansion.

How to Unlock Dwarf Beast Tribes

To unlock the Dwarf Beast Tribe, introduced with Final Fantasy 14's 5.3 patch, players must first complete the Main Scenario Quests up to and including "Meet the Tholls" in Kholusia, where the dwarves themselves are located. In addition, they must further complete the Aether Current quest chains that start with the "Village of Woe" in Wright and "A Disagreeable Dwarf" in Tomra. After wrapping up this collection of 9 quests, the players can finally pick up "It's Dwarfin' Time" from the Affable Townsdwarf in Wright.

"It's Dwarfin' Time" unlocks the Dwarf Beast Tribe faction, and much like the Ixali and Moogle Beast Tribes, the daily quests related to this faction are suited for Disciples of the Hand – Final Fantasy 14's crafting jobs, to be precise. Players will be provided materials by the Beast Tribe to complete any undertaken daily quests, though the players will have to bring their own catalysts.

As with any Beast Tribe introduced in Final Fantasy 14 thus far, the dwarves will offer up only three randomly chosen quests per day, and through improving their relations with the faction, more quests will be added to the daily pool, up to a total of 28 – 7 per Reputation rank. By advancing their Reputation rank, players will also unlock more substantial rewards from the Beast Tribe vendor, purchased from Mizutt in Lakeland by using Hammered Fragments, the unique currency obtained through completing their daily quests.

Notable rewards related to the Dwarf Beast Tribe are the Lalinator 5.H0 minion, the Rolling Tankard mount, and the Lali Hop dance – unlocked at Trusted, Sworn, and Bloodsworn reputation ranks, respectively.

Final Fantasy 14 is available for PC, PS4, and PS5.
