Square Enix's Final Fantasy 14: Stormblood expansion will release next week, on Tuesday June 2oth. Unlike its fellow MMO expansion The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind, the newest addition to Final Fantasy 14 does not have discounts widely available through multiple retailers. In fact, only two retailers are offering pre-order incentives on Stormblood.

The discounts are at the digital retailers GMG and DLGamer who are both offering worldwide discounts on Stormblood at 17% off and 18% off, respectively. Both the $40 standard edition and $60 Digital Collector's Edition are on tap, though it's important to note that these are MogStation keys and not Steam keys. As of writing, these are the best prices online for FF14: Stormblood.

Final Fantasy 14: Stormblood PC Discount

GMG:

DLGamer:

To get the deals at GMG you will have to jump through the small hoop of logging in or creating a new account. This gets you access to GMG's "VIP" price. Since you need to create an account at any other online retailer you would purchase from, it's a no-brainer to create an account and get the best price online.

Both DLGamer and GMG are selling keys worldwide but be sure you're buying for the right region before purchasing. So long as you're not traveling out of the country or masking your IP address to an overseas location, you will be directed to the right region automatically. It's worth pointing out that Final Fantasy 14 has region-restricted keys, so don't buy in the wrong region by mistake.

The same applies at DLGamer for regional keys, on the top right of the website you can tab to the appropriate region in order to get the correct regional MogStation key for Stormblood. Note again that these deals are for the regular PC, Square Enix DRM version (aka MogStation accounts) and are not compatible with Steam copies of Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn.

Stormblood Pre-Order Bonus

As an added bonus to the discounts, pre-ordering Final Fantasy 14 Stormblood at either retailer will grant you the aforementioned early access (which you can redeem with your MogStation account), along with these two additional items:

  • Ala Mhigan Earrings in-game item that works for all class and levels.
  • Wind-up Red Mage Minion that follows you around as an in-game companion.

Standard or Collector's Edition?

With the Collector's Edition's intimidating $60 price tag reduced by over $10, players may want to upgrade. You will get more exclusive in-game content with the Collector's Edition, but it's entirely subjective whether it's worth the extra money. Some of the exclusives include:

  • Syldra Mount
  • Wind-up Bartz Minion
  • Chicken Knife

The Syldra Mount is probably the best bonus in the Collector's Edition based on fan interest, but as mentioned it's entirely subjective. If you are considering the Collector's Edition, you can now pick up the game for under list price during pre-order phase.

Final Fantasy 14: Stormblood releases on June 20, 2017 and will be available as an expansion for the PC and PS4. Purchasing the expansion will also grant you access to the previous expansion, Heavensward.
