How to Unlock Lapis Manalis

Since the new dungeon main storyline, it is impossible for players to miss getting access to this dungeon. Simply progress through the MSQ until a message pops up that says Lapis Manalis has been unlocked. At that point, players can either matchmake with other players to do the dungeon or run it with AI. Loot from this dungeon is item level 605.

First Boss: Albion

As is standard for dungeons, the path forward is linear, so it is impossible to get lost. At the start of the dungeon, simply kill enemies as they approach the top of the Mammoth. After killing several groups move along the path and go toward the first boss, a large yeti creature called Albion.

Albion only has a few attacks, but players should still watch out for them. Near the start of the fight, Albion will cast Call of the Mountain which summons a large herd of creatures that run across the battlefield in a line. While getting hit by this does not cause players to get a stack of Vulnerability Up, they will still want to not get hit by it. The boss also casts a tank buster called Albion's Embrace. The tank should prepare to mitigate damage and then be healed up by the healer as quickly as possible.

Beyond that, Albion will also cast an ability called Knock on Ice. The boss will throw large chunks of ice down and then destroy one of them. Since this does a lot of damage, players will want to move away to avoid getting hit while also keeping a distance from each other. The remaining ice blocks come into play when the boss casts Roar of Albion. Hide behind one of the blocks of ice to avoid taking damage.

From there, the boss will continue to repeat its attacks along with using an ability called Left Slam. As long as players can avoid the bosses attacks, Albion will go down quickly.

Between Bosses - Part 1

Just a handful of enemies stand between players and the second boss of the dungeon. Along the way, players will want to keep an eye out for two chests and some documents that have some small bits of lore about the location that the dungeon takes place. Proceed forward and deal with the packs of enemies and then go toward the next boss.

Second Boss: Galatea Magna

The next boss unleashes a series of attacks that will require players to stay on their toes to avoid taking colossal amounts of damage. The first attack that players need to watch out for is Waning Cycle, where the boss will do two attacks with their scythe. Players should look for where the orange AoE circle is on the boss. If it is under the boss, move away and move toward the boss if the AoE field is not under the boss. Stand near the edge of the AoE field as the boss will then follow up that attack with another one, and standing near the edge makes it easier to react and get out quickly.

The boss will also spawn four purple circles on the ground, and each player must pick a circle to stand in as an orb slowly moves down toward the ground. Each orb does less damage to the party if someone is standing in the circle when the orb touches the ground, otherwise it does ten times more damage.

The only other big attack that players need to watch out for is the Scarecrow Chase ability. The boss will summon four portals and then an indicator will pop up on the order in which the boss will use them. Move away to avoid getting hit, and be mindful of the boss's attack which is indicated by the arrows underneath it. Finally, the boss has a mechanic where players need to look away from it when an eye icon appears above players. The boss will repeat these attacks until it is killed.

After looting the chest, move forward and the path will collapse. Proceed through the next area and kill the packs of enemies that block the path leading toward the final boss of the dungeon. If players want some extra loot, there are a couple of chests that they can open along the way.

Third Boss: Cagnazzo

Players familiar with Final Fantasy 4 will recognize this boss as he comes jumping down. The final boss of this dungeon is tougher than the previous two, so players will need to be ready for him. Shortly after the fight begins, Cagnazzo will cast Stygian Deluge. This AoE attack is unavoidable, so players will just have to heal through it. One of the main attacks that players will need to watch out for is when the boss conjures a bunch of bubbles.

Two bubbles will gradually move down toward the ground and leave an orange AoE field to indicate the range. Move away from these bubbles, as they do considerable amounts of damage. Cagnazzo will also periodically unleash a barrage of attacks indicated by a long red line and series of red circles that appear on the ground. Quickly look for a safe spot and move toward it.

After the bosses reaches approximately 60% health, he will become invincible and start charging an attack. A power gauge will appear along with four adds (additional enemies) called Fearsome Flotsam. The four Fearsome Flotsams must be killed before the gauge reaches 100, or players will die. Once all Fearsome Flotsams have been killed, Cagnazzo will unleash his attack. The attack still does a lot of damage, but players can easily heal through it.

After using that attack, Cagnazzo will start using a new ability called Void Cleaver. Four orbs will spawn and tether on players. Periodically these orbs will unleash a series of attacks as indicated by orange AoE fields on the ground. Quickly move out of these as fast as possible and then resume damage once the attacks stop. If players can avoid the attacks, players will defeat Cagnazzo and clear Lapis Manalis.
