Most players report MSQ taking around fifty hours of playtime when doing no side quests or extra content. Despite many feature quests being considered optional content for the purpose of beating Dawntrail, it is advised that players pick up and complete all quests in this category as they go. This is because these quests unlock additional content such as additional dungeons, Variant Dungeons, raids, and game mechanics like Flight.

That being said, it will add approximately another 50 hours to complete the feature quests in Dawntrail (all quests with the Blue Exclamation Symbol). This will bring the total completion time for the expansion to around 100 hours of playtime.

Reaching 100% completion in Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail is considerably more time-consuming than either of the previous two options. This playstyle involves completing all MSQ, Feature, and Side Quests in their entirety. Assuming reasonable queue times for group content, and few necessary resets, players can expect 100% completion to take around 300 hours of playtime.

This number may go up and down depending on the amount of time spent watching cutscenes, spawn RNG, and queue times for group content. This also does not include collecting glamour pieces, rare minions , purchaseable emotes , or mounts.
