Final Fantasy 14 is an ever-expanding MMO that started with three city-states before spreading to places like Doma, Ishgard, the First, Garlemald, and even the moon. These locations are diverse, showing gamers new places under the sea, over the stars, across the rolling hills of the Azim Steppe, and deep in bustling cities like Ul'dah. Among these diverse places are neighborhoods where players can purchase housing.

Right now, there are five housing locations across Final Fantasy 14. They are The Goblet, The Lavender Beds, The Mists, Shirogane, and The Empyreum. All are accessible at different points in the game, and all have different aesthetics. Some are also more popular than others, with the first three available to players as soon as they hit level five.

The Goblet

The Goblet is the housing area of U'ldah. It is accessible in A Realm Reborn, and is known to be the least popular neighborhood due to the design of its competition. The Goblet is an oasis in the desert, complete with waterfalls, clear skies, giant windmills, and desert views.

To access The Goblet, the quest "Where the Heart Is" must be completed. It can be picked up in Western Thanalan with an NPC named Imme. All houses have the "Oasis" style, which is Ul'dahn architecture. For those who cannot get a house, there is also the apartment complex called the Sultana's Breath.

The Lavender Beds

The Lavender Beds.

The Lavender Beds is a garden neighborhood with trees, flowers, rivers, bushes, and waterfalls. This is the neighborhood of Gridania, and thus is also accessible in A Realm Reborn. It is a pretty popular neighborhood, as many players love the magical forest aesthetic.

To get to the Lavender Beds, players must complete a quest from the NPC Margeria, who sits at the Central Shroud. The apartment complex in the area is called Lily Hills, and all houses use the "Glade" style of architecture. The weather in this region is usually either clear or fair skies.

The Mists

The Mists.

The Mists exist for beach-loving players. It is the housing area of Limsa Lominsa, and is the second most popular of the A Realm Reborn neighborhoods (it really depends on any given player's love of the beach). All its houses are in the "Riviera" style, with some having direct access to the ocean front. The apartments in The Mists are called Topmast.

To get to The Mists, players must speak to Ahctkoen at Lower La Noscea. Beyond the ocean, this neighborhood is known for its terraces, aqueducts, and stone walkways. There are also plenty of palm trees that can be seen in the distance.

Shirogane

Shirogane.

Shirogane is a very popular housing district. It is not available until players get to Stormblood content, being eastern-themed with bonsai trees, bamboo, and "Hingashi" style homes. Many Final Fantasy 14 players are drawn to this aesthetic, so the wards of this distract are pretty full.

To access the area, players must reach level 61 and complete the "I Dream of Shirogane" quest, which can be picked up by Tsurubami in Kugane. It should be available after completing the quest "By the Grace of Lord Lolorito."

The Empyreum

The Empyreum.

The Empyreum is the latest addition to Final Fantasy 14's housing market. It is perfect for those who love gothic architecture and winter weather. The districts have hot baths, many stone steps, and fountains, though this is only available to players once they reach level 60.

After completing the quest "Litany of Peace," access to The Empyreum will come through a quest called "Ascending to Empyreum." It is provided by Gondelimbaud at Foundation, but all housing is filling up fast since it went on the market.

Final Fantasy 14 is available now for PC, PS4, and PS5.
