Final Fantasy 14, like many MMORPGS, is full of things to collect and ways to customize characters. Whether it be mounts, minions, or gear, the game is full of unique rewards spread across all types of content, giving players of all dispositions worthwhile endeavors to pursue. One type of unlockable reward players might not think of collecting, however, are emotes, unique animations that allow players to express themselves through their character, whether it be in celebration of their latest achievement, or the mourning of a recent miss.

Newly introduced to patch 6.25, the Wow emote is a prime example of an exclusive emote available from the Endwalker expansion's endgame. The perfect animation for expressing candid adoration or childlike wonder, the Wow emote is a reward aspiring collectors won't want to miss out on.

How To Unlock The Wow Emote

final fantasy 14 sil'dihn subterrane variant dungeon

The Wow emote is granted from the item Ballroom Etiquette - Ample Appreciation, purchased from Trisassant in Old Sharlayan (X:12, Y:13.3) for 9 Sil'dihn Potsherds, a special currency only obtained via the corresponding Variant Dungeon, the Sil'dihn Subterrane. In order to gain access to this dungeon, players will first need to complete the Main Scenario Quest "Endwalker", followed by the side quests "An Odd Job", offered by Osmon in Old Sharlayan (X:12, Y:13.4), then "A Key to the Past" offered by Shallow Moor next to him.

The Sil'dihn Subterrane is a special type of dungeon known as a Variant Dungeon, offering a choose-your-own-adventure-styled experience by allowing players to select their own path through an instanced dungeon. Additionally, players will be able to enter with anywhere between one and four players, with the dungeon dynamically scaling in difficulty based on the number of players present. To accommodate this, players are able to choose a selection of abilities to help fill the role of potentially missing party members, such as Variant Rampart to increase the defense of a DPS or healer, or Variant Cure to bolster the healing capabilities of a tank or DPS.

As players progress through the dungeon, they'll come across a variety of bosses and mini-bosses, and while the specific bosses and mechanics will change depending on the chosen route, the number of Sil'dihn Potsherds rewarded for defeating each boss or mini-boss is the same, allowing players to experiment with different dungeon routes without fear of missing out on potsherds. Each mini-boss defeated reveals a personal chest rewarding one Sil'dihn Potsherd, while each final boss defeated reveals a personal chest rewarding two Sil'dihn Potsherds. As a result, players will need to complete a minimum of three runs in order to afford Ballroom Etiquette - Ample Appreciation and unlock the Wow emote.
