Monthly subscriptions are nearly ubiquitous across the MMORPG genre, allowing for developers to provide continued updates over the span of multiple years. While a recurring fee can present its own set of issues, Final Fantasy 14 has implemented Veteran Rewards to help sweeten the deal.

Veteran Rewards are exclusive cosmetic items granted to players who have subscribed to Final Fantasy 14 for a certain number of days, improving the value of a player's first year of subscriptions. While these rewards originally spanned 13 ranks with the highest rank's rewards being granted to players subscribed for three years, they have since been condensed to four ranks across 330 days.

How to Get Veteran Rewards

Veteran Rewards are rewarded to players via the in-game mail system based on the duration of subscriptions redeemed on their account, with each reward being delivered to every character on the account regardless of when they were created. Subscription duration is tracked based on days redeemed rather than the amount of time an account has been subscribed to the game for, allowing players to accelerate their progress by purchasing multiple months of subscription in advance. The currently available Veteran Rewards are:

  • Advent Attire (60 Days)
  • Tantalus Attire (150 Days)
  • Wild Rose Attire (250 Days)
  • Leonheart Attire (330 Days)

How to Get Retired Veteran Rewards

a hyur and miqote with a fantasia from ffxiv

As of patch 4.1, Veteran Rewards have been condensed from 13 ranks across 1080 days of subscription to only four ranks across 330 days. To accomodate this change, many rewards previously rewarded via the Veteran Rewards system have been reallocated to other areas of the game. The majority of these retired Veteran Rewards are now available for purchase with Achievement Certificates. By speaking to Jonathas near the Apkallu Falls in Old Gridania (X:11, Y:6), players can obtain one Achievement Certificate for every 50 achievement points, granted for completing various challenges throughout the game. The list of retired Veteran Rewards now available from Jonathas includes:

  • Mounts (6 Achievement Certificates each)
    • Behemoth Warhorn (Unlocks Behemoth Mount)
    • Voidal Resonator (Unlocks Ahriman Mount)
  • Chocobo Barding (3 Achievement Certificates each)
    • Black Mage Barding
    • Barding of Light
    • Wild Rose Barding
  • Minions (2 Achievement Certificates each)
    • Wind-up Cursor
    • Black Chocobo Chick
    • Beady Eye
    • Minion of Light
    • Wind-up Leader
    • Wind-up Odin
    • Wind-up Warrior of Light
    • Wind-up Goblin
    • Wind-up Gilgamesh
    • Wind-up Nanamo
    • Wind-up Firion
  • Cosmetic Armor (1 Achievement Certificate each)
    • Goblin Cap

  • Miscellaneous Rewards
    • Cascadier Uniform Voucher (Used to purchase Black Summer cosmetics armor from Aelina in Mor Dhona (X:23, 7), 2 Achievement Certificates)
    • Enquire Within (Housing decoration, 3 Achievement Certificates)

Missing from this list of items are the Fantasia potion that allows players to customize their character, and Aetheryte Tickets, which are consumed instead of gil when teleporting to an Aetheryte. The Fantasia potion is now granted as a quest reward for completing the level 50 Main Scenario Quest "The Ultima Weapon", while Aetheryte Tickets can now be purchased for Allied Seals and Centurio Seals.
