Final Fantasy 14 has a long tradition of creating tailored quest lines for every individual job, giving each of them a rich background grounded firmly within the world of Eorzea. As Final Fantasy 14's roster of jobs increases with every expansion, however, the game has since shifted to offering quests based on each job's role instead, in a new system known as Role Quests. Gatherers are no exception to this change, with the Dawntrail expansion introducing Wachumeqimeqi quests specifically for crafters and gatherers.

For gatherers, these new quests are divided into two groups, the Fish Fancies Donuhanu questline for fishers, and the Shunye's Apothecary quests for botanists and miners. Besides offering players a chance to learn more about the culture and citizens of Tuliyollal, completing these quests also reward players with significant amounts of experience and Purple Gatherer's Scrips to accelerate their leveling progression.

How To Unlock Wachumeqimeqi Quests

final fantasy 14 wachumeqimeqi deliveries delivery crafter role quest dawntrail

Unlocking the Wachumeqimeqi gatherer quests will require players to progress through the Dawntrail Main Scenario Quest, completing the level 92 quest "The Feat of Pots" and unlocking the Collectables system from the level 50 sidequest "Inscrutable Tastes" in Foundation (X:10.1, Y:10.4). Once both requirements are met, players can unlock the gatherer quests via the level 90 sidequest "Wrought in Wachumeqimeqi" from Ropli in Tuliyollal (X:16.1, Y:11.2)

How To Complete The Fish Fancies Donuhanu Quests

final fantasy 14 wachumeqimeqi deliveries delivery crafter role quest dawntrail fish fancies donuhanu

Wachumeqimeqi quests for fishers can be started at level 90 by speaking with Donuhanu in Tuliyollal (X:17.1, Y:11.2). Catching collectable fish requires players to activate the Collector's Glove ability, with the Collectability scaling based on the fish's size. The best way to catch fish with a high collectability rating is to make sure Patience II is up at all times and use Powerful Hookset and Precision Hookset abilities to counteract the reduced hook efficiency. As a rule of thumb, Powerful Hookset should be used when a strong bite (!! or !!! appears above the character's head), while Precision Hookset should be used on weak bites (! appears above the character's head).

Each target fish only appears at a specific fishing location and requires a specific bait to obtain. The fish required for the Wachumeqimeqi Delivery quests are:

The Shunye's Apothecary quests are available to botanists and miners starting at level 90, requiring players to deliver a variety of Collectable items. The specific abilities players will want to use will vary depending on their gear, however, a good starting point is to use Scrutiny, Meticulous Woodsman/Prospector, Scrutiny, and Meticulous Woodsman/Prospector, choosing any further abilities based on the collectability rating and integrity of the node.
