Final Fantasy 14’s stellar narrative owes its success in no small part due to its absolutely wonderful voice acting cast. One of the English voice actors for a major Endwalker character just bought Final Fantasy 14, and is streaming his early experiences on Twitch.

Jeremy Ang Jones is the voice actor for Fandaniel and Hermes, two major characters from Endwalker. Jones first connected with fans through Cameo, a website that allows people to commission personalized videos from celebrities and voice actors. After doing requests for dozens of fans, from personalized congratulations to meme recitations, he grew interested in experiencing Final Fantasy 14 for himself, despite limited experience with the Final Fantasy franchise.

Though his characters do not appear in the critically-acclaimed MMORPG until Endwalker, Jones was charmed by the Final Fantasy 14 community enough to consider beginning his own epic journey in Eorzea. Jones finally picked up the game, and decided to stream his early experience for fans on his Twitch, comically named “OnlyFandaniel.”

His early experiences in Final Fantasy 14 were hilarious. Jones spent most of his first couple of hours within the game agonizing over creating his perfect character and figuring out the controls for the PS5 version of Final Fantasy 14. Amazingly, Jones was able to secure the name “Hermes Fandaniel” which had somehow not been taken on the server he chose. As he began the game, he even began giving the various characters silly voices as he quested along with the chat.

Players who watched Jones’ spontaneous stream were immensely supportive of him. A huge crowd of players was waiting to greet him with fireworks and music as he spawned into the world, including Zepla, a popular Final Fantasy 14 streamer. Though he didn’t get very far during his first play session, he did seem interested in dabbling further in Final Fantasy 14, even though he doesn’t usually play MMOs. However, due to his acting schedule and self-described poor attention span, he is refraining from making any commitments just yet.

The release of Final Fantasy 14’s next major content patch is imminent, bringing with it a whole new chapter of the Main Scenario. Though neither Hermes nor Fandaniel is likely to appear, Final Fantasy 14 players will have the opportunity to experience characters old and new as they journey into the Void and the ancient Pandaemonium facility. If Jones ends up enjoying Final Fantasy 14, perhaps he will one day have the chance to challenge these new threats alongside his fans.

Final Fantasy 14 is available now on PC, PS4, and PS5.
