Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker has been live for a month now, and though server queues have receded to manageable levels, players are still raving about the critically-acclaimed expansion pack. Not to rest on its laurels, Final Fantasy 14 has released Patch 6.05, the second half of the first major release of the Endwalker expansion cycle.

Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker Patch 6.05 added a smattering of new systems to the game, including the new high-end Tomestones of Astronomy and balance changes across several of the Final Fantasy 14's playable jobs. In addition, two new pieces of content were added: the endgame Savage difficulty for the 8-man Pandaemonium raids and the Excitatron 6000 treasure dungeon.

The Excitatron 6000 is a procedurally-generated dungeon spawned by Timeworn Kumbhiraskin Treasure Maps in Endwalker, similar to the Dungeons of Lyhe Ghiah, the Hidden Canals of Uznair, or the Aquapolis from previous expansions. In addition to new housing items, mounts, and minions, Final Fantasy 14 players can get new cosmetic and battle gear, including the draconic-themed armor worn by Radz-at-Han’s Radiant Host purchasable with Tomestones of Astronomy.

This patch is a continuation of the Final Fantasy 14 mini-patch 6.01 released two weeks ago. That patch added the Normal mode for the Pandaemonium raid and the various rewards earned from it. Completing the raid rewards players with new gear and morsels of story to fill the void after completing Endwalker’s Main Scenario, and now gives them a chance to test their mettle against the Pandaemonium (Savage), the most difficult max-level content in game right now.

Final Fantasy 14 players are already farming Tomestones of Astronomy, collecting and crafting the new items available, and testing out the new Savage raids alongside their static groups. However, the hidden star of Patch 6.05 was the new Dance Pole housing item–a furnishing that showed up in the FF7-famous Honeybee Inn back in Shadowbringers–available for a small tithe of MGP at the Gold Saucer, much to the elation of /gposers and RP club owners across the data centers.

That said, some players were disappointed with the relatively sparse balance changes to jobs in Patch 6.05. While some classes, like Dragoon, Summoner, and Ninja, got a few damage buffs, and classes like the Monk and Scholar got a few quality-of-life improvements, most of the classes were largely unchanged. Some were hoping over-tuned classes, like Reaper or Warrior, might get a few nerfs, while others were hoping under-performing classes like the Dark Knight might get a little bit of love. Final Fantasy 14 is probably waiting to see how the classes perform in endgame raid content before any major buffs or nerfs, especially after the value downscaling in Endwalker, so players might have to wait a few months until Patch 6.1 to see more radical changes made to Final Fantasy 14’s jobs.

Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker is currently live on PC, PS4, and PS5, but is temporarily unavailable for purchase due to server congestion.
