Final Fantasy 14 is teaming up with Twitch to reward players for tuning into participating streams, and the prizes include the rare Chocorpokkur mount previously available from a different event. The Final Fantasy 14 and Twitch crossover will run for most of July, giving players plenty of time to experience the story of Dawntrail and claim rewards simultaneously.

The news of Final Fantasy 14's latest promotion arrived at a busy time for Square Enix. The final week of June will see Final Fantasy 14 enter a 48-hour maintenance window ahead of Dawntrail early access, in which the game will not be playable. Final Fantasy 14 producer and director Naoki Yoshida stated that the long maintenance period was done to give players time to download the expansion's massive files. PC players will require at least 55GB of additional storage space to download and play Dawntrail, with console players requiring 75 GB to 100 GB of total storage space, depending on the platform.

Square Enix announces the measures it will take to make logging into and playing Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail as smooth as possible at launch.

Once the early access period for Dawntrail ends, Final Fantasy 14 players will have a new way to mark the expansion's full launch. According to a Lodestone post by Square Enix, Final Fantasy 14 and Twitch will hold a Viewer Rewards Campaign starting Tuesday, July 2, at 4:00 AM Eastern, and ending Monday, July 29, at 4:00 AM Eastern. The start of the FF14 Twitch campaign will be on the same day as the expansion's full release, and all the rewards will make it easier for players to experience the main story of Dawntrail. Final Fantasy 14 players who watch at least six hours of live content from participating Twitch streams under the Final Fantasy 14 category will receive a code for the rare Chocorpokkur mount.

Final Fantasy 14 x Twitch Crossover Event Details

  • Starts Tuesday, July 2 at 4:00 AM Eastern, and ends Monday, July 29, at 4:00 AM Eastern
  • Twitch Viewer Rewards include EXP Boost Meal Set, Aetheryte Tickets, and Chocorpokkur mount
  • Rewards can only be obtained by watching participating Twitch streams for one to six hours.

The Chocorpokkur mount was previously available in 2021 as part of a collaboration between Final Fantasy 14 and Butterfinger, making it an elusive target for mount collectors. In addition to the mount, players who watch one hour of Final Fantasy 14 streams on Twitch will get an EXP Boost Meal Set, consisting of ten buttery Mogbiscuits and Fat Choco Chocos. Watching three hours of participating Twitch streams will net players ten Aetheryte Tickets, which can be used on free Teleports to specific in-game locations. However, FF14 content watched before July 2 will not count toward the rewards.

Final Fantasy 14 players must log into the Mog Station to redeem the codes that grant these items. Considering how rare the Chocorpokkur mount is to obtain, Final Fantasy 14 players will not want to miss out on the upcoming Twitch promotion.
