Final Fantasy 14 is adding four new Worlds to the Dynamis Data Center on June 11: Cuchulainn, Golem, Kraken, and Rafflesia. These new Final Fantasy 14 Worlds are being added ahead of Dawntrail in an effort to preemptively counteract server congestion and long queue times.

Dawntrail sails into Final Fantasy 14 on July 2, with early access beginning for players who pre-purchased the update on June 28. If previous expansions are any indication, Final Fantasy 14 fans shouldn’t be surprised if they get caught in a queue when trying to log in to the critically-acclaimed MMORPG after Dawntrail launches.

With just under a month before Final Fantasy 14 launches Dawntrail, fans get a preview of the level 100 Artifact gear for all crafters and gatherers.

In an effort to help alleviate some of these inevitable hiccups, Final Fantasy 14 is adding four Worlds to the Dynamis Data Center. These servers will go live on June 11, bringing the total number of Worlds on the newest North American Data Center up to eight, the same number as most other data centers in Final Fantasy 14. Hopefully, the addition of these new Worlds can spread the population across Final Fantasy 14 ahead of Dawntrail’s release.

FF14: Dawntrail North American Data Center Expansion

  • Four new Worlds are being added to the Dynamis Data Center on Tuesday, June 11.
    • Cuchulainn
    • Golem
    • Kraken
    • Rafflesia

As outlined on the FF14 World Population Balancing Incentives page, players who create characters on these Worlds, or use the free transfer service to migrate an existing character to them, will receive a number of benefits. New characters receive 10 silver chocobo feathers, a million gil, and 15 days of free playtime, while transferred characters get 10 gold chocobo feathers, as well as a gil reimbursement for any private housing or apartments they own. Additionally, both receive double experience gains until they reach level 80 on their first job. Characters on these servers will qualify for these bonuses until 90 days after they reach a certain population threshold, and are no longer classified as a New World.

Final Fantasy 14 has been hard at work upgrading its servers in preparation for Dawntrail. In May, it added the new Shadow logical data center to its European Data Center, plus several other server updates over the last several years. This is undoubtedly because FF14 is trying to avoid taking extreme measures to alleviate high traffic, like it did in Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker by halting sales of the new expansion.

While adding Worlds is almost always a good thing, some fans have concerns over these new Dynamis servers. The data center’s population is already not high; the existing Halicarnassus, Maduin, Marilith, and Seraph Worlds are all still classified as New. This is, unfortunately, because of a troubling trend of players making characters on one World, but then using the Data Center Travel system in Final Fantasy 14 to play on another. Fans will have to see if these new Worlds can help balance the population, or if they end up exacerbating the issue even further.
