Final Fantasy 14 Online is Square Enix's dive into the MMO world with the Final Fantasy franchise, and it has done an amazing job so far. It has given fans the opportunity to explore one of the game franchises that they love with their friends. With the addition of all the expansions in the game, players have been able to spend even more time with friends.

The game hosts many different players at any given moment, so it isn't surprising that some players haven't gotten along. This encouraged the game to include a Blacklist, which allowed them to filter out those that they didn't want to hear from. Here's a rundown of everything changing with it in the Dawntrail expansion.

What Is The Player Blacklist In Final Fantasy 14?

The Player Blacklist in Final Fantasy 14 Online is an amazing feature that allows players to truly play the way that they want. The system allows players to stop contact with players that they don't want to play with. When someone is on a Blacklist, they won't be able to contact the player Blacklisting them. They will also not be able to see that player in Party Finders, meaning it is almost impossible for players to bother those that have Blacklisted them. This system was put in place to ensure that players will be able to play the game without having it ruined by people who are toxic or targeting them for any reason.

To Blacklist someone, all players need to do is target them and type the command "/blacklist add <t>." They can also access their contact list and Blacklist them from there. Don't worry, players can always remove someone from their list if they have decided to play with them again.

Changes To The Player Blacklist In Dawntrail

The developers announced before the Dawntrail expansion was released that the Blacklist would have some major improvements during the expansion. Additionally, new systems similar to the Blacklist would be put in place to help players. This announcement left a lot of fans excited to see everything that would be added to the game. Here's a breakdown of everything:

  • Mute List Added
    • This list allows players to mute others rather than Blacklisting them. Up to 200 players can be muted, and this system will just ensure that their messages are hidden from the player. However, the player will still be able to see the muted person, just not speak to them.
  • Term Filter Add
    • The Term Filter allows players to mute specific terms, so if someone sends a message with that term, the message won't appear. This is similar to the profanity filter, but players can censor more words and phrases.
  • Estate Expulsion Feature Added
    • This feature allows players who one a Personal or Free Company house to expel guests for up to 10 days. They can also assign up to 4 company members to enforce the expulsion.
  • Enhanced Lodestone Privacy Setting
    • Players can now hide their Lodestone data from anyone who isn't on their friends list or in their Free Company.
