Final Fantasy 14 recently announced its ninth annual 14-Hour Broadcast is scheduled for April 12, starting at 8 P.M. PDT. Taking place a few months before the release window for Dawntrail, Final Fantasy 14 fans are hoping to learn some new information about the upcoming expansion during the livestream.

The 14-Hour Broadcast is an annual livestream event Final Fantasy 14 has held for most of the critically-acclaimed MMORPG’s lifespan. These events often contain multiple panels, including Live Letters from the Producer, Q&A segments where the developers explain design choices in FF14, and even sessions where developers play the game on stream.

Final Fantasy 14 Reveals Combined Holiday Event

Amid a busy March, Final Fantasy 14 will host two annual holidays simultaneously, and players can earn a new reward for participating in them.

Now, fans have a date for when Final Fantasy 14's ninth 14-Hour Broadcast event will take place. The livestream begins on April 12, starting at 8 P.M. PDT, where it runs through the night until 10 A.M. the next day. Final Fantasy 14 hasn’t shared an official schedule for the event yet, but players may see one in the weeks leading up to the broadcast itself. Past events have usually had English subtitles or translators for major announcements, but the majority of the event will be in Japanese – though the Final Fantasy 14 community will likely share fan translations after the event.

Final Fantasy 14’s 9th 14-Hour Broadcast Date

  • Friday, April 12 from 8 P.M. PDT to Saturday, April 13 at 10 A.M PDT

The last 14-Hour Broadcast for Final Fantasy 14 technically took place in October 2022, meaning there was no such event during 2023. This was likely because Final Fantasy 14 brought back its Fan Festival last year, and was hard at work preparing Dawntrail for its summer 2024 release.

While fans can expect all sorts of entertaining panels to celebrate the end of Final Fantasy 14's 10-year anniversary, its proximity to Dawntrail’s release means the 14-Hour Broadcast will probably contain some new announcements. If Final Fantasy 14 holds a Live Letter from the Producer during the event, players could learn more about the changes coming to each job, see a launch trailer, or even get to download a benchmark featuring the new graphical update. If Dawntrail doesn’t have a release date by then, it almost certainly will get one during the broadcast.

Final Fantasy 14 fans will have plenty of other things to look forward to in the month leading up to the 14-Hour Broadcast. Square Enix is revealing more about FF14: Dawntrail at PAX East on March 23, and the Final Fantasy 16 crossover event will be taking place in early April as well. In the meantime, Final Fantasy 14’s joint Little Ladies’ Day and Hatching-Tide event starts on March 14, and the Xbox client moves from open beta to full release on March 21.
