10 Take Up Good Positions
Simulating soccer can be a tricky prospect. It's hard for one player to attain a sense of realism with the game if they have to control eleven players exactly how they want. Thankfully, with the addition of another person in the same team, it can be easier to initiate great teamwork.
Players should take up great positions on the pitch and help their partners out while they're picking out passes. Coordinating positioning and movement will help launch a fluid attack that almost always results in a goal.
9 Only Have One Player Pressing An Attacker
Most players might be tempted to rush at an opposing player whenever they have the ball. While this is acceptable behavior while playing solo, things get more complicated once players partake in co-op play.
Two players rushing at an opponent means that the opposition will have more chances to free their own players and occupy empty spaces left behind during this press. So, it's important to communicate beforehand and only have one person marking and pressing an opposing player with the ball.
8 Don't Get Too Greedy
Co-op play mandates that players pass around and trust each other during both attack and defense. Of course, this is easier said than done when a player gets a sniff at goal, even if their partner is in a better position to score.
During these moments, it's important to keep a cool head and go for the safer and, at times, selfless option. It might seem tempting to go for goal instead, but the fallout of missing this chance can be quite devastating.
7 Don't Switch Players Hastily
While playing co-op, it can be challenging to select the most appropriate person to control on the field. This might lead to gamers switching in-game players hastily, which is never a good sign.
In this moment, it's better for players to preferably flick the right analog stick toward a player they want to control instead of panicking and hitting the auto-switch button all the time. It gives players more control about who they're going to move around without frustrating their teammate.

While gamers can certainly do well on Online Seasons while using four-star and lower teams, it is not advised to go with a low-rated team on Co-Op Seasons. On Co-Op Seasons, it is common for a gamer to receive a pass from their teammate that they weren't expecting.
Taking a better team means having better players who can dribble well and avoid being dispossessed despite a gamer not expecting to be passed to. Most of the best teams on Seasons are also the best teams on FIFA 23 Career Mode.
5 Pass A Lot
Possession-based gameplay is normally solid on any FIFA title, performing consistently well even if not quite matching up to whatever the meta is at a given date. On Co-Op Seasons, possession is doubly effective because it makes it difficult to defend and intercept against the opponents. FIFA 23's best central midfielders tend to be the ones who make possession possible for teams.
Passing a lot improves the synergy between two gamers and keeps opponents confused. Even with the slower gameplay of FIFA 23, possession can speed up attacks and make them more deadly.
4 Have Attackers Playing Far Up The Field
Gamers will want to have at least two players far up the field and ready to receive through balls. There are multiple ways to achieve this: playing formations of 2 strikers or adjusting the position of the LW or RW in order to move them further up. Teams with the best strikers in FIFA 23 will find they score much more by making use of their attacking abilities.
Off-the-ball positioning is obviously better for teams when on Co-Op Seasons because one gamer can manually move their player to receive a through ball. For this reason, gamers should utilize two-striker formations or, as the next best thing, a very high LW or RW.
3 Use Conservative Tactics
Gamers should use conservative tactics with their teams, in order to avoid overextending and being left open for a counter. Counter attacks are powerful on any FIFA game, and on FIFA 23 they are extremely effective. Even if a team has the best players in the Premier League on FIFA 23, it doesn't help to be conservative.
Using around 50 depth for instance gives a team a very balanced position on the field, but results in the slower build-up and long ball play being necessary. Ultimately, gamers should use tactics that complement their play styles but don't make attacking too easy for opponents.
2 Use Narrow Formations
Narrow formations are better for modes like Co-Op and Pro Clubs, because of the higher amount of passes that it results in. These narrow types of formations can be deadly to defend against providing that the duo has good synergy with each other. Teams that don't have the best wingers on FIFA 23 would benefit from a more narrow formation.
Narrow formations such as the 4-1-2-1-2 and others are ideal for players who like to use this play style and tactic setup. Gamers should keep in mind that they can adjust the position of their players and change the tactics to make the formation work for them.
1 Communicate As A Duo
The most effective duos on Co-Op Seasons are the ones who communicate with each other, preferably on voice chat. Since FIFA 23 doesn't allow gamers to play Co-Op seasons with anyone who isn't on their friend list, this means that whoever a gamer plays with is likely to be a friend of theirs, online or otherwise.
It's surprising how many gamers don't communicate with each other during Co-Op seasons, so any duos that do are guaranteed to have an edge. Going in a voice chat and playing will allow a duo to speak out about what passes they're going to make, leading to more effective attacks.
