FIFA 23 has received a mixed set of reception from a variety of different players within different modes, especially for PC players experiencing stability issues. Despite this, the mode has been primarily positive so far for players who prefer offline activity is Career Mode. With the addition of new features such as cutscenes after completed transfers, pre-match buildup, improved transfer negotiations, and many more gameplay features, it is safe to say that EA has edged closer to providing the most optimal manager and player experience so far.

Whilst there are certainly improvements compared to predecessors and game-changing features, many fans will be aware that there is still room for improvement in multiple areas before developers can finally take this final entry to its highest potential.

5 Kit Creator For Each New Season

Custom Kit Creator

With the presence of players being able to create their own club from the ground up, this feature is already present in the game, similar to FIFA 22. This is extremely beneficial for immersion and gives players the ability to adjust their experience to how they see fit. While this is an active feature, it is not available in managing a real club and can lead to new seasons feeling the same.

The best thing EA can do for players in this region is to implement the same templates and designs from creating custom clubs while maintaining kit emblems and the crucial parts of each real team's kits to ensure that the identity is kept intact. Whether this comes down to creative ideas or legal issues is yet to be known, but if this is possible, players will certainly appreciate it.

4 More Customization Options

Pro Clubs create a player

Aside from kit editing and customization in this area of the title, some features such as tattoos and other hairstyles are not available to players in Career Mode despite being present in Pro Clubs and Volta Football. This may not be seen as a problem for many, but it can be an extra incentive for players to keep playing and unlocking different appearance sets for their character.

There is no guarantee that this will be an addition to the title depending on the choices of developers, but considering the fact that this isn't as monumental as something such as gameplay overhauls, the likelihood of this being added within an update is high.

3 More Press Conference Questions

Real Managers

All players will know that the addition of press conferences was a big part of adding to each FIFA's level of immersion, as it introduced another layer of realism and depth to their experiences. Many of the questions present in the title are repetitive and do not appear to have much variety.

Not only do these same questions appear too often, but there are always only three questions in total within each press conference or interview, and are only present in manager mode rather than the player mode. Adding another layer of complexity and questions which challenge the player's manager will move this experience much closer to a life-like feel.

2 CPU Passing Speed

CPU Passing

When playing on much higher difficulties between Legendary and Ultimate, fans will be aware of how difficult it can be to dispossess their opponents, especially in the final third area of the pitch. This would be understandable with the higher ranked teams such as Manchester City, PSG, or Real Madrid, but this occurs with teams who are placed bottom of the league and struggled against every other team.

The help of sliders is very much beneficial to adjust this to a much more fair experience, but this only does so much to lower the accuracy and speed at which teams operate. Based on FIFA 22's updates with their own adjustment to sliders, this could very much appear this time around.

1 Custom Game Faces

Allison

One of the more frustrating downsides for players at release is the generic faces of fans' favorite players, particularly those that they plan to use for career mode. Out of all game features, this can be the biggest immersion breaker of all for those who are in search of the most authentic manager experience. As of now, this is also less of a possibility as EA's new kernel anti-cheat has prevented the modding community from their usual work which has left many players disappointed. For previous Pro Evolution Soccer titles, KONAMI provided solutions to problems as such, which would allow players on consoles to use real kits for unlicensed teams, and PC players were able to use custom faces for players who were yet to have an updated face.

Unless EA decides to add this feature in themselves or the modding community somehow manages to find a way to mod the game with the anti-cheat still present, the possibility of custom game faces is highly unlikely. Whether EA actively does not want their game to be modded or their engine is unsuitable to them is yet to be known, but if developers wish to send FIFA to the next level, especially considering 23 being the final entry in the franchise, this would be the way to go and will allow the community to support the game for however long they wish.

FIFA 23 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
