The FIFA Seasons mode is a staple of the franchise, having been part of the series for many years. Players choose any pre-existing club, the players of which will have live updated stats. Beginning in Division 10 (or 8, depending on whether the player played the previous FIFA), players will try to work their way up to Division 1.

Whether it's choosing a team the player supports, or a four-and-a-half star up and comer, or even an international team; teams will have different strengths and weaknesses. FIFA 22 has a very prevalent meta, which leads to superstar teams being the best choices due to the incredibly overpowered stats of their players. Seasons is one of the best modes on FIFA, and a lot of players' experience depends on the team they choose.

Updated February 4, 2022 by Mark Sammut: Seasons does not tend to get as much love as Ultimate Team, but it serves as a nice change of pace from the more meta-heavy online modes. As these clubs came preloaded with their current rosters, it typically leads to a balanced experience where players seek to maximize their specific squad's strengths rather than focus on just speed. Naturally, there are a couple of teams that dominate Seasons, be it due to their name value or the simple fact that they have squads that can overwhelm most other options. This article has been expanded to include a few more of the best teams to use in FIFA 22's Seasons.

Special Mention: United States Women's Team

When it comes to women's football, only international teams are included in FIFA 22. Consequently, this makes it quite difficult to find a match in Seasons since there are not all that many players who pick Women's National teams. Nevertheless, there are some very strong squads in this bracket, with the United States leading the pack followed by Germany.

The U.S. team is an absolute powerhouse, particularly in midfield and attack. Megan Rapinoe, Alex Morgan, and Tobin Heath might combine to create the most devastating attacking trio in FIFA 22, and the rest of the squad can easily keep up with them.

9 Inter

inter team

The current dominant force in Seria A, Inter has enjoyed a resurgence over recent years. While Italian teams have struggled to keep up with the heavyweights from other countries, Inter's squad is well-balanced, with Milan Dinpuia, Nicolò Barella, and Lautaro Martínez being the standout players.

Inter's bench does not have many game-changers, however, it is mostly stacked with solid players, including a few veterans like Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sánchez. The team's formation can leave players vulnerable on the break and through the wings, so it might be worth altering the system depending on whether someone can adapt to this set-up.

8 FC Barcelona

With the loss of players such as Suarez and Messi, Barcelona has certainly seen better days for their squad in both real-life and on FIFA. They are still one of the best teams to use on FIFA, however, even if they're not the most friendly to beginners due to lack of pacey options for counterattacks. A lot of La Liga FUT builds contain players from this team.

Players should play possession-based, slow-build-up football with Barcelona, but use Dembele for quick bursts of pace that barely any defenders on the game can keep up with. Being patient with the ball and slowly working the opponent's defense is what this sort of team excels at.

7 Real Madrid

Real Madrid may have fallen off their perch in recent years, but they remain a very strong team that still has a range of decent players, with Hazard, Vincius Jr, Benzema, and Courtois being their best offerings.

The Real Madrid setup should be fine-tuned and isn't as friendly to beginners as other teams available. Players who like controlling the tempo of the game at a fast pace and are good with holding possession will have the most luck with this team.

6 Manchester City

Stacked with players on the pitch and bench, Manchester City is one of the best-rounded teams in FIFA 22. Be it their dominant defense that features the likes of Aymeric Laporte and João Cancelo or their mouthwatering midfield spearheaded by Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City does not have any weak spots, with their attacking line-up only falling short in comparison to the rest of their team rather than their competitors.

Depth is the name of the game when it comes to Manchester City. Many players in the club's reserve squad would walk into other Premier League teams' starting line-ups, especially Raheem Sterling and John Stones.

5 Piemonte Calcio

Piemonte Calcio makes up for its lack of a name license with a fantastic, versatile squad that balances pacey options with skillful ball-playing midfielders that still rip through defenses even without Cristiano Ronaldo. Players such as Arthur, Dybala, Cuadrado, and Chiesa ensure this team's viability in FIFA 22 Seasons.

The standard formation and player instructions are decent enough for this team, but players will want to speed up the build-up play and could also slightly push forward the wingers if coming up against a team with slow LBs and RBs. Players could build a Serie A FUT team build composed mostly of Piemonte Calcio players and it would still be competitive.

4 Manchester United

It's no secret that Man United has been struggling for a number of years, but their FIFA counterpart has only gotten stronger with the signings made in between FIFA 21 and FIFA 22. Man United has many of the highest-rated forwards in the game.

New arrivals Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, and Raphael Varane give Man United a solid defense with a lot of attacking options. Man United should be played extremely fast and aggressive. Going all-out attack at the beginning often leads to success. If struggling, the player can drop to ultra defensive/defensive and rely on pacier players such as Rashford, Sancho, and Ronaldo to get level with the opponent.

3 Liverpool

Liverpool has risen to one of the best teams in the world, at least on FIFA Seasons. They have a frightening counterattack with players like Mane and Salah bombing it down the wing at a moment's notice, and Van Dijk is a tank in defense that manages to stop seemingly any attack.

While Liverpool arguably lacks depth compared to other teams available in FIFA 22, the standard set-up for the time with some minor player-specific tweaks to the tactics and instructions will be more than sufficient to climb the Divisions with.

2 Paris Saint-Germain

PSG has some of the best players in the world as well as cheap young players with high potential. The previous transfer window only further bolstered the squad with the arrivals of Messi, Sergio Ramos, Donnarumma, Hakimi, and Wjnaldom. Most players use this team as they're climbing through the divisions on Seasons, but it's hard for them not to when the game favors PSG so much.

The default squad set up for PSG is already pretty strong, but players can adjust their formation, tactics, and player instructions to finetune it specifically for them. PSG is also one of the best Career Mode teams.

1 Bayern Munich

bayern first team squad

Munich has long been considered one of the best teams in the world, and they consistently show up as the most viable option across many FIFA titles. While Lewandowski lacks pace, the team is full of it in other areas with players such as Kingsley Coman, Alphonso Davies, and Leroy Sane, among the highest-rated players on FIFA.

The default version of this squad is pretty strong, and due to the quality of the individuals, players can mess around with the formation, placement of players, and instructions/ tactics, leading to a finely-tuned meta-menace that glides through the Seasons Divisions.

FIFA 22 is available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Google Stadia.
