Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth makes some notable changes to the source material, including how players recruit Yuffie to their party. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is finally available to the masses, giving fans the chance to relive one of the franchise's grandest adventures on a greater scale than ever before. Some fans of the original may be curious how one adds Yuffie to their party in the new game, especially since she was missable in the original.

This article will have some SPOILERS for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

In the original Final Fantasy 7, Yuffie is encountered as a random battle in a couple of different locations on the world map. Players then have the chance to fight Yuffie, and if they win, they can potentially recruit her to the cause. If players fail to talk to Yuffie after beating her in battle or choose the incorrect dialogue options, though, they will miss their chance to bring Yuffie with them on their adventure.

There are 36 side quests in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, though not all of them will be available to players right away.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth makes massive changes to Yuffie's introduction and the role she plays in the game. Whereas Yuffie is an optional party member in the original Final Fantasy 7, she joins the team as part of the main story in Rebirth. Players encounter her at Junon, where she is attacked by the Terror of the Deep boss. After the boss fight, it looks like Cloud is going to have to perform CPR on Yuffie, a callback to the CPR mini-game from the original FF7, but Yuffie wakes up and runs off.

How to Get Yuffie in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

  • Beat Chapter 6

Those interested in recruiting Yuffie in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth may try to run after her, but really she won't be a permanent, playable party member until the very end of Chapter 6. In fact, Yuffie joining the team is the last thing that happens in Chapter 6. Afterward, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth players can play as Yuffie as much as they want in battle, and like the game's other party members, there are even some instances when players get to control her directly while exploring the world instead of Cloud.

The changes made to recruiting Yuffie are far from the only way Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is different from the original. The developers made all kinds of changes to FF7 Rebirth's story, and it will be interesting to see just how different the Remake trilogy is compared to the original game once the third title is out.
