The Saga of the Seaside Inn becomes available at the beginning of Chapter 7 and is one of the longest side quests in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. This is because completing it requires players to get a Tonberry King's Crown, which they can only do by visiting an area of the Corel Desert that they won't have access to until much later on in the game.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: All Corel Region Side Quests (& How to Complete Them)

Chapter 7 of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth sees players arrive in the Corel Region, where they'll have access to four side quests to begin with.

To be more precise, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth players will have to wait until Chapter 9 to fully explore the Corel Desert, so although it may be possible to start The Saga of the Seaside Inn in Chapter 7, players will need to complete two more chapters of the main story before they can finally finish it. It's well worth the effort though, due both to the content of the side quest and the rewards that it offers.

How to Start The Saga of the Seaside Inn

Players will be able to find The Saga of the Seaside Inn on the Costa del Sol Community Noticeboard from the beginning of Chapter 7. After accepting the job, they should head back to Johnny, who'll reveal that a few of Yuffie's clones are still around and have been helping him renovate the hotel. Unfortunately, a group of them went out to gather supplies a while ago and haven't come back yet, prompting him to ask Cloud and the rest of the party to head out into the Corel Region and check in on them.

All Corel Region Zipline Locations (Refurbishment Materials)

Players will find the first group of Johnnys at the nearby Costa Falls. They'll explain that they were accosted by some fiends and were forced to flee using the ziplines, causing them to drop the Refurbishment Materials that they were carrying. To complete this step of the side quest, players will simply need to make their way to the nearby ziplines and grab the Refurbishment Materials from the platforms at the top. Images showing the locations of all eight Corel Region ziplines can be found in the gallery above. After locating them and grabbing the materials, players can return to the Johnnys, who'll tell them about another group of clones at a nearby Republican-era factory.

Boiler Valve Transmuter Chip Location

After arriving at the factory in question, players will learn that the Johnnys need a Boiler Valve. Unfortunately, they'll need a special transmuter chip in order to make one for them, which they may or may not have already. To find the Boiler Valve Transmuter Chip, players will need to have scanned the first two Corel Region Lifesprings (see images above), which will unlock the Excavation Intel 1: Valve Factory Ruins World Intel objective. Assuming they've done that, players can use their Chocobo to dig up the Boiler Valve Transmuter Chip as well as a few others. To transmute the Boiler Valve, they'll need two pieces of Iron Ore, two pieces of Zinc Ore, and two pieces of Amethyst, all of which can be foraged nearby, assuming players don't already have it.

How to Get to the Corel Desert in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

When players hand the Boiler Valve over, the Johnnys will mention another Johnny who went off toward the desert. If players travel west to the quest marker, they'll find the Johnny in question standing near the water's edge. He'll ask them to steal a Tonberry King's Crown, which means that a trip to the Corel Desert is in order. However, depending on where they are in the main story, players may have to wait a little while before completing this objective. This is because players won't be able to go to the Corel Desert until they reach Chapter 9 of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, so those who are yet to complete the Dustbowl / Gold Saucer section of the game will have to put this quest on the back burner until they've done so.

Tonberry King Location (All Corel Region Lifesprings)

Before players can find a Tonberry King, they'll first need to scan all of the Lifesprings in the Corel Region (see image gallery above), including the ones found in the desert. Doing so will unlock the Classified Intel: Heavy Lies the Crown World Intel objective, which can be found to the east of the Corel Desert. Once there, players will need to hold the Triangle button to lure out the Tonberry King, much like they did with the Quetzalcoatl during the Where the Wind Blows side quest in the Grasslands. Before they do so, though, they should make sure to equip an orb of Steal Materia and prepare themselves for a somewhat challenging fight.

How to Steal the Tonberry King's Crown in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Players can defeat the Tonberry King to get a Marred Crown. However, it's possible to get a Pristine Crown instead, which is arguably the better of the two outcomes. To get a Tonberry King's Pristine Crown, players will need to dodge one of its attacks and then quickly deal a bunch of damage to pressure it. The Tonberry King has no weaknesses, so just about any attack, spell or ability will do. Once pressured, the Tonberry King's crown will fall off its head, at which point, players should quickly cast Steal on the crown (not the Tonberry King) to add the Pristine Crown to their inventory.

The Saga of the Seaside Inn Rewards

After stealing the Tonberry King's Crown, players should fast travel back to the Johnny at The Borderland and hand over the Pristine Crown. From there, they can make their way back to the real Johnny at the hotel to claim their rewards. If they found all of the Refurbishment Materials and stole the Pristine Crown rather than the marred one, they'll receive Queen's Blood Card 134 (J-Squad), as well as 10 Party EXP, 800 EXP, and an improved relationship with Yuffie. They'll also gain access to Johnny's collection, which allows players to display the many artifacts they find on their travels and is key to obtaining the final piece of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth piano sheet music.
