Like one or two of the other side quests in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Rendezvous in Costa del Sol requires players to engage with some of the title's many mini-games. It becomes available in the Corel Region during the game's seventh chapter and sees Cloud and Aerith going on a pre-planned date in order to inspire some local fashionistas ahead of their upcoming show.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: All Corel Region Side Quests (& How to Complete Them)

Chapter 7 of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth sees players arrive in the Corel Region, where they'll have access to four side quests to begin with.

The quest itself isn't too difficult, although achieving the scores and times that are needed for the best possible outcome may prove tricky for some Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth players. Thankfully, the two mini-games that they'll be playing are ones that they should already be fairly familiar with, which should help to make life easier to a certain degree.

How to Start the Rendezvous in Costa del Sol Side Quest

Players will be able to start the Rendezvous in Costa del Sol side quest from the beginning of Chapter 7. To do so, they should head to the Costa del Sol Community Noticeboard and accept the job; then make their way down to the beach. There, they'll find a trio of fashionistas who are seeking inspiration for an upcoming fashion show. They want Aerith and Cloud to go on a date so that they can observe the pair's interactions in the hopes that it will spark some creativity. Assuming they agree to help out, players' first port of call will be Pirate's Rampage.

Pirate's Rampage: Ghost Ship

Players will already be familiar with Pirate's Rampage, though the version that they'll be playing this time around is a little different from the one they played while hunting for Companion Cards in Chapter 6. Rather than just having to worry about hitting as many high-value targets as possible, the Ghost Ship stage requires them to focus on accuracy as well, as this will have a huge impact on their score. As such, players should take a little more time to line up their shots so as to keep their accuracy as high as possible. They'll need a total score of 10,000 to progress, though achieving 18,000 will lead to the best possible outcome.

Run Wild: Time Trial

Next, players will need to head over to Naomi at Run Wild. As with Pirate's Rampage, the version of Run Wild that they'll be playing here is a little different from the Free-for-All game mode that they played earlier. In Time Trial, the aim is to put the numbered balls into their corresponding goals as quickly as possible. To begin with, there won't be too many obstacles, but as they progress, players will have to contend with moving poles and boxes as well as a barrage of other balls. As such, players should use the lob shot to chip the balls over any obstacles that stand between them and the goals, which they can do by pressing the X button. They'll need a time that's under 3:30 to progress, but a sub three minute time will lead to the best possible outcome.

Gather Shells

The last part of Cloud and Aerith's date sees them head down to the beach to look for shells. Upon their arrival, they'll need to deal with some Barnaclaws, which are weak against fire. After that, they'll be using their Chocobos scenting abilities, much like they've done in some of the other Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth side quests. There are three shells to find in total, with the best being a Gigantopod shell. Players can find the Gigantopod shell on some rocks near the ocean (see image above), with the other two being buried in the sand nearby. There's a chance of digging up more Barnaclaws here though, so players might just want to bail after they've gotten the Gigantopod shell.

Rendezvous in Costa del Sol Rewards

After handing over one of the shells that they found to Yorda (preferably the Gigantopod shell, as this will lead to the best possible outcome), players will need to head back to the Costa del Sol beach, where the fashion show is about to begin. In addition to the fashionistas, players who also played Final Fantasy 7 Remake will see a few familiar faces from the Wall Market gym up on the stage, after which, the quest will come to an end. Players will receive The Art of Swordplay Vol. II, 10 Party EXP, 800 EXP, and an improved relationship with Aerith as a reward for their efforts. They'll also unlock the two new mini-game variants that they played during the date, as well as the Bodybuilders in a Bind side quest.
