Table of contents

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is far from a short game, with the main story alone taking longer to complete than the one found in the original PS1 title despite only covering around a third of the ground. With that in mind, some players may find that they've already had their fill of the game by the time the end credits start to roll. For those who haven't, though, there's plenty of post-game content in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Chapter List (All FF7 Rebirth Chapters)

Understanding how many chapters there are in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth can make it a lot easier to gauge how much progress one's made.

Players wondering what to do after finishing the main story have plenty of options, from hunting Trophies and collectibles to taking on some ridiculously powerful Final Fantasy super-bosses that put Emerald and Ruby Weapon to shame. The game offers up a few suggestions right from the get-go, but for those who are looking for some additional inspiration, the following list of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth endgame activities should prove useful.

Complete Every Side Quest

There are 36 side quests in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Most players will probably complete a fair few of these during their first playthrough, but those who don't can make use of the newly unlocked Chapter Selection menu to replay any that they missed. Doing so is a great way to level up the party while also earning unique rewards, including the manuscripts that are needed to upgrade weapons. There's a lot of interest lore in some of the side quests too, hoping to flesh out some of the secondary characters and the wonderous world that they inhabit.

Get the Gilgamesh Materia

Gilgamesh in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Players will be able to obtain a Protorelic in each of the game's open-world-style regions by completing Phenomemon Intel objectives. Gathering them all will unlock the path to Gilgamesh Island, where players will be able to fight the legendary swordsman Gilgamesh in a challenging yet highly enjoyable battle. Defeating him will unlock the Gilgamesh Summoning Materia, which can prove very useful when taking on some of the more difficult Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth post-game content.

Return to the Musclehead Colosseum

Musclehead Colosseum in Gold Saucer in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Players will visit the Musclehead Colosseum during Chapter 12 as part of the main story, but if they return after completing the game, they'll find that there are a plethora of new battles available to them. These take the form of both three and six-party battles and pit players against some of the toughest foes in the game. Unsurprisingly, perhaps, these post-game battles can be pretty difficult, but the rewards for completing them make it well worth the player's while.

Take on Chadley's Combat Simulator Challenges

Chadley in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

If players are really looking for a challenge, Chadley is the sentient AI that they'll need to speak with. After defeating Gilgamesh, players will gain access to six Brutal Challenges; all of which live up to the name. As with the post-game colosseum fights, though, beating these challenges can be incredibly rewarding. Among other things, players are able to earn additional orbs of Elemental and Magnify Materia as well as the fantastic Gotterdammerung accessory.

Gather All 88 Seaside Inn Collectibles

Johnny's Seaside Inn in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

After players have completed the Saga of the Seaside Inn side quest, they'll be able to display some of the nick-nacks that they gather at Johnny's hotel. There are 88 Seaside Inn collectibles in total, most of which are rewards for achieving the highest possible rank in certain mini-games. Players who've already completed all of the aforementioned Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth post-game tasks will likely have gotten their hands on most of these collectibles already, meaning that they should only have to master a few more mini-games and mop up one or two odd jobs to help turn the Seaside Inn into a bonafide 7-Star Hotel.

Play Through the Game on Hard Mode

Like a lot of other modern games, including its 2020 predecessor, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has a Hard Mode that can be unlocked by completing the main story. As the name suggests, Hard Mode makes things a lot more difficult for players, increasing enemy stats, disabling items, and preventing players from restoring MP at benches and rest stops. As well as a Trophy, completing all 14 chapters on Hard Mode will reward players with a bunch of SP-granting manuscripts, making it a must for those hoping to max out every party member's stats and skills.

Unlock the Platinum Trophy

There are 61 Trophies in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. By this point, players should have already unlocked most of them, so taking a moment to unlock the last few seems like a bit of a no-brainer. In all likelihood, it will just be odd jobs remaining, such as increasing their stagger bonus to 300% or grinding out those last few levels to hit level 70, so chasing the Platinum shouldn't require too much extra work on the player's part. They can then wear it like a badge of honor; knowing that only a small percentage of players have achieved this feat thus far.
