There's an awful lot of side content crammed into Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, helping to push completionist playthroughs quite close to the 100-hour mark. Some players may be eager to experience the main story quickly though, thus presenting them with a very difficult decision: should they stay and fully complete the region that they're currently in or move on to the next chapter with side quests and objectives left incomplete? Thankfully, this choice isn't quite as significant as it first appears.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: Which Beachwear Should You Choose in Costa del Sol? (Best Swimsuits)

Although it may seem like a trivial choice at first, the swimsuits players choose in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will have an impact on their playthrough.

This is because Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth allows players to return to previously explored regions; at least until they hit the point of no return at the start of Chapter 13. Initially, it's not clear how exactly players are supposed to get back to the Grasslands after their arrival in the Junon region, though, after completing a certain side quest, it soon becomes clear. Likewise, in many subsequent chapters, players will gain the means to go back to past regions should they so wish.

How to Return to Previous Areas in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Strictly speaking, it's possible to return to the Grasslands region by backtracking through the Mythril Mine. However, if players complete the Stuck in a Rut side quest, ranch owner Gabe will agree to reopen his Chocobo carriage service, thus allowing players to travel instantly between the Grasslands Junon Regions. Likewise, in later chapters, players will gain access to other modes of transport that will take them back to previously explored regions, including the Shinra-8 cruise ship, which can transport the party between the Corel and Junon regions.

Although it is possible to travel between different regions in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth , players won't be able to use fast travel in order to do so. The only ways to return to previous regions are by making use of vehicles or by making the journey on foot.

When is the Point of No Return in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?

The point of no return comes near the start of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's thirteenth chapter. In the interest of preventing spoilers, this guide will not go into too much detail about the events leading up to the FF7 Rebirth point of no return, but players will know it when they reach it due to a very clear on-screen warning. Prior to this though, it's safe to skip over side content and return to it later on. Players can also tackle unfinished side content via the chapter select menu once they're done with the main story.
