Upon their arrival in Costa del Sol, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth players will need to get their hands on some beachwear to gain access to the resort's world-famous and stunningly beautiful beach. To do so, they'll need to take part in a series of special mini-games to earn Companion Cards, which can then be used to acquire swimsuits at the Beachwear Exchange.

Every Side Quest in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

There are 36 side quests in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, though not all of them will be available to players right away.

In total, there are six beach outfits available in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, with two a piece for Cloud, Aerith, and Tifa. Though it may seem inconsequential at the time, the beach outfits that players pick in Chapter 6 are actually somewhat important, leading many to wonder which Costa del Sol swimsuits they should choose.

Which Beach Outfit Should You Choose in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?

There are two different styles of beachwear available for each character: a casual ensemble or a swimsuit. To improve Cloud's relationship with both Aerith and Tifa, players should make sure that they choose the same style for all three characters. This means that if they choose Wild Surf for Cloud, they'll want to choose Pink Mermaid for Aerith and Shining Spirit for Tifa. However, if they choose to dress Cloud in his Ocean Chocobo outfit, they'll instead need to pick Floral Delight for Aerith and Majestic Glamour for Tifa.

Should players only wish to improve their relationship with one of the two leading ladies, they should choose a non-matching outfit for the other character.

How to Unlock All Costa del Sol Beachwear in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Strictly speaking, players will only need to earn enough Companion Cards to unlock one beach outfit for each character, but it's possible to get all six outfits by taking part in every Costa del Sol mini-game and story beat. They're pretty easy to find as the starting locations for each of them are clearly marked on the player's map, but for those having trouble, a full list of requirements can be found below.

  1. Pirate's Rampage (Companion Card for Cloud): Achieve a minimum score of 10,000.
  2. Card Carnival (Companion Card for Cloud): Complete all three rounds of the Cards del Amor Challenge.
  3. Cactuar Caper (Companion Card for Aerith): Find and photograph all four of the pink Cactuars.
  4. Run Wild (Companion Card for Aerith): Finish second or above in a match of Run Wild: Free-for-All.
  5. Wheelie Rendezvous (Companion Card for Tifa): Collect the unreturned Wheelies and take them back to the correct locations.
  6. Royal Coast Concert (Companion Card for Tifa): Perform Tifa's Theme on the piano in The Royal Coast Hotel with at least a B rating.

Tifa and Aerith initially receive two Companion Cards for returning all of the Wheelies, but end up giving one of them back to Jenny.

What Happens if You Choose Matching Beach Outfits in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?

Regardless of which outfits players choose, the resulting cutscene will play out more or less the same, save for the appearance of the three customizable characters. However, for any characters that match with Cloud, a message will appear on the screen informing players that they have the same taste in beachwear. Shortly after, another on-screen message will appear to let them know that Cloud's relationship with any matching characters has changed.
