One of the key ways in which Final Fantasy 16 further enriches the JRPG experience is via its optional side content. Side quests tend to keep Clive Rosfield and the rest of his merry crew busy, but sometimes, it is all about just using swordplay and magic to eliminate some dangerous threats out in the world of Valisthea.

This is where Nektar and the Notorious Marks bounty hunt come into play. Players returning to the hideaway can speak to the Moogle to get the juicy details about potential hunts, all in the name of Renown and reward. For players hoping for some help in taking down the Dozmare griffin in Final Fantasy 16, read on.

Where to Find Dozmare in Final Fantasy 16

Once the Notorious Mark has been picked up back at the hideaway, players can make their way to the Holy Empire of Sanbreque. More specifically, fast travel to the Lostwing Obelisk, and head in the southeast direction. This will lead players through the Norvent Valley and near the Caer Norvent River Gate. Look towards the extreme south to locate Dozmare.

How to Beat Dozmare in Final Fantasy 16

As a B-rank Notorious Mark, the Dozmare will put up a fight for anyone who is unprepared. To prevent any fatal harm, these are the attacks to look out for and how Clive can turn the tables on this dangerous foe:

  • All of Dozmare's attacks involve the griffin getting into the air, and the key to identifying what comes next is the accompanying effects.
  • If Dozmare leaves the ground with nothing else happening, prepare Clive for a lunging attack. Dodge and punish the creature or just get out of the way.
  • Should there be swirls of wind appearing beneath the creature, it will be casting a wind spell with a large area of effect. Get out of the radius to prevent any damage, and use Charged Magic during its downtime.
  • The final attack is when Dozmare is in the air and starts circling the area, this will be its Noble Dive attack. It will look to smash into Clive, before releasing a ring of energy. Be sure to stay alert to avoid the initial dive, and then escape the energy pulse.

Anytime Dozmare misses its attack, players should take advantage and unleash the most powerful Eikonic Abilities for damage. Get its Will down, so it becomes Staggered, and push hard during this window to whittle its health down.

Defeating Dozmare will reward players with 8500 Gil, 20 Renown, 747 XP, 55 Ability Points, as well as Meteorite and the rare Scarletite crafting materials.

Final Fantasy 16 is exclusively available for PlayStation 5.
